The flavor of mechs in Antimony Black is probably closest to Lancer by vibe (where they're mostly mundane with a bit of subtle anomalous bullshit going on until it becomes way less subtle), but the way they look and move in my head is definitely closer to Armored Core (specifically 4 and 6)

Had to cut a third main character out of this thing for the sake of brevity, but then replaced their introductory point in the story with the protagonist hiring a prostitute just to have someone to talk to because she's a deeply sad individual.

I saw a post once about how a lot of modern fantasy writing is incredibly dry and basic as far as prose goes, which resonated with me a lot. So now I unabashedly write my fantasy sword guy stuff like I think I'm the second coming of Tolkien and Michael Moorcock, which has been lots of fun.
