The UK Labour Government are cracking down on people who try to jump the queue and enter Britain illegally. This week small boat arrivals have fallen to a six-year low. We still have an enormous job ahead of us, but it's one the government is tackling head on.

Parliament’s back. So it’s back to work in Westminster. I’ve had a busy summer across the Livingston constituency, meeting constituents, community groups and businesses and hearing what matters to you. Now it’s time to take those issues back to Parliament and deliver.

From West Lothian to London, Scottish businesses are helping build some of Britain’s most impressive spaces. I was back at Tradstocks recently, seeing first-hand the skill that goes into producing their world-class Scottish natural stone and supporting around 50 skilled local jobs.

🚌 Better bus services start with listening to the people who use them. Over the past year, local campaigning has delivered improvements to bus services in Livingston Village, Broxburn, Fauldhouse, Eliburn and surrounding communities. But there's still more to do.

No one should be forced to sleep on the streets. Andy Burnham’s first pledge as Prime Minister was to ensure every rough sleeper is off the streets by Christmas, supported by a £442 million investment in emergency accommodation and support services.

Another busy constituency day complete. From meeting constituents at my office in Craigshill, Livingston, to visiting local businesses, organisations and community groups across West Lothian, it’s been a full day out and about in the constituency.

Really positive news for Livingston this afternoon! Sky have secured planning permission for a new campus. This major investment will support hundreds of jobs, local businesses and suppliers, while creating new opportunities for West Lothian.

A welcome campaign update on local swimming provision 🏊‍♂️ Following concerns raised with me by a number of constituents, I raised Xcite’s proposals to change swimming provision at local school pools.

Today, on Ukraine’s Independence Day, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ukraine. Ukraine’s sovereignty, freedom and democracy must be defended and the UK’s support will not waver.

Following my visit to Harburn Golf Club, where I met Club Captain Brian Rooney, Treasurer Jim Thomson and Marketing Coordinator Kevin Buchan, I’ve been making the case to VisitScotland for more to be done to attract overseas visitors to our fantastic golf courses.

🚌 As our communities grow, our transport network must keep pace. Reliable bus services are essential for getting to work, appointments, and other everyday activities, yet residents continue to raise concerns about the coverage of local bus services.

Last year at the Howden Park Christmas Craft Fair, I met local illustrator Lisa Greenan and promised I'd buy a copy of Donald and His Dino Friends for my two boys. I'm pleased to say I've kept that promise – and I can't wait to read it with them.
