He's frozen out the young guys, is playing a lot of guys out of position, and acting like mid guys are undroppable. It's a lot of galaxy brain stuff with not a lot to show for it.

Maybe we're starting to see why Rene Weiler only lasts 2 years at each club he's managed. Actually looks like the last club he lasted more than a year and a half was FC Aarau (April 2011 - June 2014). DCU is officially at 1 year and one month. So only 4-5 more left, if trend continues?

LRT: I always thought Antley did a solid job and could play anywhere along the backline. You need versatile squad players like that. Weiler clearly didn't rate him though as he barely played.

Very nice sequence from Kamil Castillo just now to use a shoulder feint to keep a lane open for a 20-yard carry before dishing to Kijima, who in turn slipped Clark in behind. Play fizzled on a heavy touch from Clark, but the penetration from Castillo is exactly what you want to see from an 8

Avilez is better than Peglow going forward right now. Doesn't press or defend as well though. He should be pushing Peglow for his spot going into next year.

DCU replies, with Oscar Avilez striking back in the 14th minute. Good ball from Kijima after a well-worked counter-press, and Avilez showed real composure to take the extra touch and make his finish easier.

Good to see both 16 year olds start. My theory is Peltola came back out of shape, which would explain why Servania has been preferred. He and Ordaz probably need to build up fitness so they start. Wonder what Turner did to get in the doghouse...cuz he in the doghouse.

Interested to see who gets minutes for DCU tonight. Outside of the homegrowns, I wouldn't expect many Academy kids to play as they are just entering preseason this month. I wonder if Nono has his visa yet as this would be a good time to get him in.

Salvadoran Heritage night has helped create an excellent vibe at Audi Field tonight. Not just full, but loud & attentive. Hopefully the Nashville penalty just now isn't a vibe-killer. Almost like connecting with the Salvadoran community is to DCU's immense benefit.

2-0 Nashville at halftime. Few chances either way, but Nashville's 2 most promising attacks have ended in a penalty and a goal, with Mukhtar the architect on both. DCU does not have a Hany Mukhtar and you feel it on nights like this. Nashville top-to-bottom talent/organization controlling play.

Walking into a vibrant Audi Field, I'm struck by how little development has been done by our owner who prioritizes real estate development opportunities over everything. My guy has had 8 years to build on prime real estate in DC and has done...nothing. Careful, Baltimore.

Two 16 year olds on the bench for DCU, which is fun. Stroud on the bench over Turner and Clark is less fun.
