“I look not to myself but to the Force, In which all things arise and fall away.” "The Odyssey of Star Wars: An Epic Poem" by Jack Mitchell presents a classical retelling of the Star Wars saga in the style of Homer's ancient Greek epic poem the Odyssey. 📚🛒 www.amazon.com/dp/1419756281
When I first got "The Phantom Menace" on DVD back in 2001, I probably watched the making of documentary on disc 2 more times than the film itself. I'm so glad Lucasfilm has put the whole thing on YouTube (although kinda surprised it's not in the "extras" on Disney+ too).

Lucasfilm doesn't realize the amount of anxiety this ad campaign created for 8-year-old Greg who didn't know the special editions were coming and asked his dad to get a fireproof safe that could hold 3 VHS cassettes out of fear that these tapes would literally have to last him the rest of his life.

So excited to see this is kicking off right in my backyard of eastern PA next year! Will definitely be going in February.
Just announced: A new 18,000 square foot Star Wars exhibit will open in Philadelphia on February 13th 2027 ahead of a 5 year tour in North America! The exhibit will open at The Franklin Institute and feature screen used pieces, interconnected galleries and immersive experiences.
You may know that Jim Henson's classic fantasy film LABYRINTH (which turned 40 today) is available to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, and Tubi — but did you know @shoutstudios.bsky.social released the original making-of documentary "Inside the Labyrinth" for free on YouTube too? Well, now you do!

"The Great Muppet Caper" turns 45 today! It's arguably my favorite Muppet movie. A true classic! But did you know that there's some cast crossover from the original 1977 "Star Wars" movie and the Muppets' second feature film? (🧵 thread)

Well, up front we’ve got Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, and Ponda Baba ― zero risk of accidental handballs. As goalie, we got either General Grievous or Dexter Jettster. And then you go with BB-8 as the ball.
What Star Wars characters are you picking for your best Star Wars World (Galaxy?) Cup team?
"Honey, I Stunk the Kids" turns 37 tomorrow. Did you know the film has some fun connections to Star Wars and Indiana Jones? Here’s how Wayne Szalinski and his shrinking machine tie back to the classic Lucasfilm productions. (🧵 thread)
This weekend marks the 35th anniversary of Disney's 1991 film "The Rocketeer." While Cliff Secord never visited a galaxy far, far away, the Rocketeer does share some connections and DNA with the Star Wars series. (🧵 thread)
“The Rocketeer” turns 35 on Sunday. The 1991 Disney film follows the adventures of stunt pilot Cliff Secord, who discovers a secret rocket pack and soon attracts the attention of Howard Hughes, the FBI, and Nazi operatives. But did you know the Rocketeer is connected to Indiana Jones? (🧵 thread)
As "Toy Story 5" heads towards theaters, here are some of the fun ways that the Toy Story series has connected with Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. Pixar was born at Lucasfilm, so naturally the studio behind Woody and Buzz shares roots with Indy and a galaxy far, far away.... (🧵 thread)
"Disclosure Day" is some of the most Spielbergy Spielberging that Spielberg has Spielberged. The movie blends the themes and ideas of "Close Encounters" and "E.T." with the momentum and energy of "Minority Report" and "War of the Worlds." And, as always, John Williams delivers.
There's no such thing as an ethical billionaire. And there absolutely, positively, without a doubt, sure as shit ain't no such thing as an ethical trillionaire.
"It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage." Happy 45th anniversary to "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
As Spielberg's "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" turns 44 this week, here's a fun reminder that the alien exists in both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones universes. E.T.'s species is seen in the Senate in "The Phantom Menace" and among the gylphs in the Temple of Akator in "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
