UKG and UKfunky producer and DJ. Music, photography, weirdness, tech / AV, mainstream stuff, some scale modelling nerdery.

This is well worth reading on the statistical reasoning beyond the A.I. doom hype. My view is this messaging is an attempt to get open weight models regulated into competitive disadvantage just as they become a threat to frontier models’ revenue and floatation.

I really didn't want to add to the AI hype. But there's something the reporting is missing. That scary number? The ">10% chance we'll all perish" number? It's nonsense. It's just a bullshit hunch with a percentage sign. www.not-ship.com/stop-trustin...

Still sad about Shaun’s passing. I did the soundtrack / DI mix to Minds Locked Together, a short film he made while doing photography in club nights. We used to go clubbing and he’d come round my house with big art prints. One time he brought round dry ice “for the kids” but it had evaporated!! ❤️

We lost a good friend on this day 10yrs ago, still miss him and think about him often. I miss all the silly messages and videos we'd send to each other and of course his fantastic work. One of the best to do it.

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).

A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.
