Stopped by Wendy’s to get some photos and video, the kitten with the cleft palate is still doing good! That’s… a pretty good sized cleft, though. She’s showing signs of neurological issues similar to CH, but we won’t know the degree of severity til she makes it long enough to get some muscle tone.

Made it there and back to Wendy’s house (our bottle feeder) and the little girl is hanging out in the incubator while she preps to tube feed her. Might be a long shot, but we’re going to try.
The kind lady that found Orpheus and Eurydice and brought them to our rescue contacted me tonight to tell me her daughter brought her a neonate kitten that has a cleft palate. They suspect it hasn’t eaten since it was born. We’re trying to figure out the quickest way to get it here for tube feeding.
Sue, meanwhile, is still obsessed with the catnip rainbow we gave him and also can’t keep his tongue in his mouth. 🤷

Some of my favorite things Jolyn drew for me. The last one she tried to fit ALL of my characters at the time onto one page and got really close. 😂
I wish these had come out clearer, but my high school bestie Chelsea did a photo shoot of us during one of Jolyn’s trips to Texas. I’m glad I have as many photos of us as I do have, I always did try to avoid having my picture taken because I have a lot of issues with body dysmorphia. 🤷
One of my trips to visit Jolyn, this time in Charlotte. She got that shirt when her mom took us to the mall and dropped us off. She also got me a Zim and Gir plush that I still have... I carried her around the food court on my shoulders, and we found a magazine with a letter from Kilcodo about MSI!
I was sad for a long time because I couldn’t remember the first time I met Jolyn in person. I remembered the first email, the first art trade- but not the first time I saw her. It just felt like she was always in my life. Apparently I anticipated this, as I found “FirstMeeting.jpg” in my Jolyn file.

I’m finally organizing my backup drive to try to find specific things and I am ashamed to say I have an unorganized folder with over six thousand furry art images (mostly from 99-06, a lot of it friends’ art) that past me left to be future me’s problem. 🥲

Lmao I forgot that the elders don’t actually want to know when something they’re enjoying is likely AI. 🤷 There’s a lot of reasons I’ve been thinking about getting out of rescue work and honestly the proliferation of weird AI animal rescue videos is definitely part of it.
Do you remember Dashande? This is the original Dashande! I was at FC and he was sitting on the charity auction table and I snagged him and send a photo to Jolyn and was like “LOOK it’s NEEMA’s brother!!!” and she was delighted so we made him into a character. (Art by Fook/OpiumRevolution)
