💬 NEW COMIC STRIP: “Seeking the Chosen One” Let's dive into the world of fantasy for a moment… a great quest lies ahead of us. ▶️ grisebouille.net/en/seeking-t... #webcomic #comics #oc #inkscape #funnyposts #GriseBouille #fantasy #SFFF #parody #prophecy

6-panel comic.

PANEL 1. In a tavern, three characters are seated at a table: a wizard, an elf, and a dwarf. The wizard announces: “Dear companions, for our next quest, we must find the Chosen One!” The dwarf asks: “The Chosen One? But chosen by whom?”

PANEL 2. The elf: “Yeah, who had a say in the matter?” The dwarf asks her: “Did you?” The elf: “Not that I remember.”

PANEL 3. The wizard exclaims: “Don't be silly: he was chosen by the GODS!” The elf: “Ah! I'm an atheist, so don't even go there!” The dwarf: “And I'm actually agnostic. So, I'm not sure about your Chosen One…”

PANEL 4. The wizard gets annoyed: “Ugh, cut the crap! He's the Chosen One because the PROPHECY said so!” The elf: “The prophecy? Now where'd that come from?”

PANEL 5. The wizard explains: “Well, the high priestess had a vision while in a trance and…” The dwarf cuts him off: “We ain't gonna trust a random guy every time your crackhead girlfriend has hallucinations…”

PANEL 6. The wizard walks away, offended: “This is the last time I'm going on a quest with a bunch of leftists…” Off-screen, we hear: “This is an anarchist fellowship, dear sir! No gods, no masters, no chosen ones, no nothing!”

6-panel comic.

PANEL 1. Scene from “Back to the Future.” Marty says to Doc: “Listen, Doc, you know there's something I haven't told you about the night I traveled back in time…”

PANEL 2. Doc refuses: “Please, Marty, don't tell me, no man should know too much about their own destiny. I could endanger my own existence, just as you endangered yours!” Marty, embarrassed: “You're… you're right.”

PANEL 4. Marty taps Doc on the shoulder with a nonchalant air. Doc wonders what he wants.

Recently, people dug up a bunch of reviews of The Empire Strikes Back from when the movie was released… reviews that openly discussed the revelation that Vader was Luke's father.

No way that would happen today!

Yet I'm willing to bet that people who read those reviews had this reaction:

A guy reads his newspaper: “Oh! Apparently, in the sequel to Star Wars, we learn that Vader was Luke's father!” Next to him, a woman is also reading and replies: “No way! That sounds crazy!” “ The man: ”Yeah, can't wait to see that!"

💬 NEW COMIC STRIP: “Romantic Comedy” The rom-com is a highly standardized film genre. If you want to try your hand at this genre, here’s a quick tutorial. ▶️ grisebouille.net/en/romantic-... #webcomic #comics #oc #inkscape #funnyposts #GriseBouille #romCom #romanticComedy #movie #trope #movieTrope

The young lady will be played by a model who will be made to look like an ordinary young woman by giving her a tousled hairstyle and a sweater (usually, the illusion is highly convincing).

Think Keira Knightley.

Young woman: “Beneath my interstellar bombshell looks, I have a sensitive side. I’m looking for a sensitive man, a saxophonist, who loves head cheese, but above all, is HONEST.” She adds: “I’ve been hurt by dishonest men in my life. Dishonesty: what a pain.” Smiley: “Do you sense the subtlety of the message?”

If I attach the slice of bread to the animal's back, this is what happens when I let go.

Gee lets go of the cat, who says “Meoow.” The cat falls straight to the ground, landing on its feet. The smiley face says: “(Insert snarky, fake-smart comment from a little smiley face nuisance who's got nothing better to do with his life.)”

Well, yes, the cat lands on its feet.

We said so. Like, right from the start.

The toast didn't fall at all, so there's no problem to report.

PANEL 3. Another one, with very bright colors: “Big Fair, Louise Michel School, starting at 6:00 PM, Saturday the 20th.” The man: “Whoa, was this made with a CGA graphics card?!” The woman: “Don't show this to people with epilepsy… It’s a public health hazard.”

PANEL 4. This time, it’s a poster clearly generated by AI for a bring and buy sale. The man: “That’s…” The woman raises an eyebrow, surprised.
