"Good evening, David. Yes, it does seem that way."
David Kostyk.@iknowmetal.bsky.social · 2y ago"Good evening. It seems... quieter."
"And...I think that would be a perfect time for me to practice my training. Well, thank you for the opportunity to talk anyway. I shall see you soon."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoTrust me, even Baghra has told me that. She even tried to teach me ways to prevent it. Sadly, that didn't work the way she wanted it to. She said it'll take time but....it's frustrating.
"Yet, that's what happened. That might be something you need to work on."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoIt's hard not to end up with his temperament when everything he taught me revolves around it. The reacting with anger part only rears it's head when I feel threatened or someone just pushes the wrong button.
"That's what we are all hopeful for at this rate." He gives her as much of a warm smile as he could manage in front of her. "Speaking of, has Nadia sent any word yet?"
Zoya Nazyalensky.@ravkanqueen.bsky.social · 2y ago"We're working on that. She did save me from being sent to lead the Second Army so I am grateful for that." She is rather grateful for his non-judgemental attitude. "I don't want that either, so hopefully she and I can actually get along, at least it's what I'm hopeful for."
"To be fair, it does sound like he's taught you more than how to use your powers. After all, when strong personalities clash..."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoI normally don't talk about this. Most since....well....no one really asks. Only Genya and Alina have really tried to get to know me. Everyone else either fears me because of who my father is or because I'm like him. It's a bit annoying, in a way.
"Have you two tried talking it out?" Adrik shook his head. "If this keeps happening, the entire Little Palace may be uprooted from its foundations. And I don't say that just to sound alarmist."
Zoya Nazyalensky.@ravkanqueen.bsky.social · 2y ago"His daughter seems to have taken issue with me after that one incident when Alina picked me to spar with and I used my powers against her." Zoya sighed. "Since then she and I haven't particularly got along and whenever we cross paths it's tumultuous; I've tried to make peace with her a few +
"I think in some way we're all thankful for Baghra. She helps us when we haven't met our full potential. In her own way, though. Other than that, you have been sharing a lot."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y ago*Aleksandra nods* Thank you. I may have lost my mother but I can use her power. I just never really trained with it. I prefer the one i inherited from my father. It's what he was able to teach me to master. He preferred training me himself, though Baghra did help. She pushed me a bit harder than -
"Yeah....I mean I wouldn't want to die that way, either."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoShe had lost a lot of blood from being stabbed before my father could get her to any Healers. They could only keep her alive long enough for me to be born. I can see how that changed my father. He became more prone to anger. And more determined to keep Grisha safe. My mother was Grisha as well -
"I...yeesh...what a ghastly way to go."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoYou mean who was my mother. She died. Was killed actually. She survived long enough to have me, if I remember the story correctly. My father was never the same after that. *she is careful to keep certain details to herself*
"That must be...fascinating? I don't know what to think. I'll have to think of it in a moment. Who's your mother?"
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoI don't mean to. I'm just saying that I've seen it more than the rest of you. I grew up with him teaching me to master my powers and his vision for a safe haven for Grisha. He never took well to me doing anything that didn't fit his plan. And trust me, I did my share of not quite listening. Much -
"Any of...you still speak of Grisha as if they're lesser than you are. As if we're lesser than you are."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoI've seen more of it than any of you have. He raised me so I've seen him angry more times than I'd like to have. I learned very quickly the best way to quell it when it's directed at me. Today it was due to fighting within his ranks. I felt I should deal with his anger and save Zoya's neck at the -
"I don't have to believe you to know how his anger is. He is the General, after all. We all have seen it at some point, if not been the target of it ourselves."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoI made an attempt to save Zoya's neck. She was getting sent to lead the Second Army, which isn't where she wants to be. I told my father there may be another solution. That instead of of sending her away, give her a role in things here. That I'd be willing to forget the incident and work with her -
"Zoya often does that, almost as a measure of proving someone's worth. And if Alina's the Sun Summoner, then I expect she will be putting her through something intense."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoYes. Zoya had attacked her with her powers during training once, l saw it and confronted Zoya. And there's been issues ever since. We're trying to sort it out though.
"And I suppose those ideas are what got you into trouble with Zoya? I promise, she's not as horrible as her first impression might indicate."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoI do know her. Not well but I know her. And I have to know everyone's skills, what they can do under pressure and them as people. I, like my father, seek to protect all Grisha. I just have my own ideas in that regard.
"That says more about you than it does about my lack of presence." He gives her a slight smile. "Adrik Zhabin, Squaller of the Etherealki. If you know Nadia Zhabin, I am her brother."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoYes. I am. Aleksandra. And you are? *she chuckles* I've commanded the Second Army at times for my father, as part of the training he set me. I should know every Grisha here. What leader doesn't know all those they are responsible for?
"So I have heard. Thank the Saints for David Kostyk. What happened?"
Zoya Nazyalensky.@ravkanqueen.bsky.social · 2y agoGrumbling under her breath. "Altercation with myself and Kirigan's daughter."
"You must be the one that got in that fight with Zoya. And of course you haven't seen every Grisha. We are everywhere."
Aleksandra Morozova@puredarklingspawn.bsky.social · 2y agoWho is this Grisha I've not met? *is watching @grishasqualler.bsky.social from a distance* Here I thought I knew all the Grisha seeing as I do command work for Father at times. Well when he's not furious with me for incidents with Zoya anyway..... *she's muttering all this to herself out of a habit*
Can someone tell me what happened this afternoon? I think I missed something.
