Heba Muraisi is in critical condition on day 72 of her hunger strike. She struggling to breathe and suffering uncontrollable muscle spasms. Kamran Ahmed is on day 65. He is experiencing shrinkage to the muscle of his heart and has been diagnosed with bradycardia.

In October 2023, Keir Starmer said Israel had the “right” to cut off water and electricity to Gaza — then his Labour government went on to sell Israel more weapons than the Tories ever did.

This is a government that denies genocide, bans a non-violent direct action group for the first time in British history to protect arms dealers’ profits, and now moves to scrap jury trials after Elbit Systems — Israel’s largest arms manufacturer — complained about juries acquitting Palestine Action.

Today marks day 65 of Heba Muraisi’s hunger strike. Day 58 for Kamran Ahmed. They are now at imminent risk of death and this Labour government remains spineless and cowardly — refusing even to meet their lawyers while lives hang in the balance.

Let there be no ambiguity: if Heba or Kamran die, that blood is on the hands of this Labour government. Our demand is clear and immediate: bail for all remand prisoners. Now.
