Over the years one develops a fairly good radar for certain artists' egos and the ways they tend to posture and withhold. A lot of people are only interested in you if they have something to gain or otherwise perceive you as safely beneath them. The only healthy response is to prioritize yourself.

Watched The Living Dead Girl last night. Maybe one of my favorite Jean Rollin films now. It's sweet and sad and insane and so beautiful. The imagery is genuinely freaky in its naturalism and defies its nonexistent budget. The best kind of 4k that creates a definitive record of something so special.

Best Jamaican food I've ever had made by the coolest guy in a cafe in Winchester, VA. Had driven there to see an amazing Alphonse Mucha exhibition. It was July and brutally hot and the food saved our lives.
