I suspect most writers have that one authority figure who was snide about their writing, allowing that writer to be fueled by spite for years if not decades. My version was the creative writing prof who was dismissive about science fiction. I sent him a copy of Old Man's War when it was published.

This week, we bought a gallon of milk that got dented on the ride home & began to leak. We poured it up into some pitchers, one of which leaked entirely out in our fridge tonight. I picked it up, discovered this & had a mini freak-out about a half gallon of milk pouring down behind the shelves...

We created this mother-of-pearl inlay badge featuring the emblem of Yokote High School, one of Akita Prefecture’s most prestigious schools. Its beautiful cloud-inspired emblem is known as “Aokumo.” This was a custom commission from an alumnus and is not an official badge worn by current students.

I discovered via comparison of photos of our house when it was built vs when the previous owners listed it that there used to be a door with access to an attic in one of our bedrooms that was walled over when they added a board-and-batten wall treatment. What's in that (now-inaccessible) attic?!

Make. Ice. It doesn’t have to be in cubes if you don’t have ice cube trays. Clean out your freezer, anything that’s old either eat it or trash it. Fill clean zip top bags, silicone molds, PLASTIC bottles with lids with potable water. Fill the freezer. Remove as needed. Zip top ice will break up.

"Teppit" (ketchup) has fallen. The remaining pillars of babydom are "cimmanin" (cinnamon) and "breh-sik" (breakfast). Long may they remain.

It only takes the right time and the right scam. You're more likely to slip if you're run down, sick, in a rush, or distracted. One time i fell for the "you have a package waiting" text scam while my wisdom teeth were abscessed. Shit happens and you aren't immune to fucking up
