any software engineers/companies making desktop apps without using LLMs to generate code? it feels like so much software is becoming noticeably buggier and that making software that prioritizes user trust and reliability would be good for everyone

Idea for management: What if we were to fully abandon our vision, integrity, and reliability, and strategically pivot toward making all decisions from a frantic place of fear?

I started playing Skate Story yesterday, not expecting *too* much -- I mean, I've enjoyed skateboarding games since THPS1, but at this point what else is even left to do with the genre?

I've been learning Rust on my new handheld gaming device/pc and think my setup is cool. Also, I think learning new skills is a good use case for LLMs. I'm using Mistral (french privacy friendly ai company) to get guidance as I have questions, and the cost has been $0.67 so far this month.

gpd win mini 2025 with screen showing RustRover. code on one side, mistral cli on the other with info about heap vs stack based data types.mistral admin interface showing $0.67 usage for the month of april. (paying for per-request api usage instead of monthly flat rate)

check this out, this is pretty nuts... after replying to a thread about coding, i got a flurry of responses from op in the span of a few mins, obviously LLM generated. the acct (SpaceTessContinuum) says "Witch Queen of Seattle, Transfem Hacker" this AI-posing-as-trans shit is gross and dangerous

bluesky thread started by SpaceTessContinuum (@eigenvalue . bsky . social), in which it posts many quick, obviously LLM-generated responses in successionprofile for SpaceTessContinuum (@eigenvalue . bsky . social)

There's like so many indie devs making really beautiful and creative games, and it feels like there's never been a better time to find the ones you like... Not only will you discover a universe of dope games, but supporting the little guys/gals/nbs instead of the Goliaths is real resistance.

can't stop thinking about new engineering director saying, hey look i rebuilt the software yall been developing for 20 years with a bunch of agents in 2 weeks and it's way better and i'm not saying you should be scared but

honest question for folks proud of how many tokens they're churning through with concurrent agents... y'all climate change deniers, or just dgaf about anything/anyone?

As a software engineer whose job forces me to be using ai, I'm developing a pretty deep distain for it. I feel like it *could* be cool if it wasn't shoved down our throats everywhere and causing people's brains to melt and assisting in the concentration of power and destroying the world though.
