My futuristic technological dream is that word autosuggestion won't try to autocorrect me a word I just correctly typed for the second time, after previously erasing a wrongly suggested word

Research & Detonation made it to @gamemakerstoolkit.com's favourite games of GMTK Game Jam 2026! It's a sharp puzzle game about blasting boxes into correct spots, and we've updated it to a 1.1 version since the jam ended. Play it here tanocollective.itch.io/research-and... #gamedev #indiedev #godot
Can't wait for this painting inspired light novel titled "Sheltering from a Sudden Shower, but the Girl Who Shared Her Umbrella with Me, Turned Out to Be the Daughter of the Shogun, So My Peaceful Edo Life Is Officially Over"
Artist: Kitagawa Utamaro (c. 1753–1806).Title: Shower (also known as Sheltering from a Sudden Shower or Caught in a Rain Shower).Date: Created circa 1799–1800 during the Edo Period.
Super happy about the results of the last #GMTK In 4 days, as @tanocollective.com, we made "Research and Detonation", a cute, little puzzle game. It's here, if you want to check it! tanocollective.itch.io/research-and... #gamedev #indiedev #gamejam
It seems the bigger the company is, the worse their process of even applying to them. I don't want to point fingers in case of an unlikely event of them checking my Bluesky, but what's the point of automatically retrieving data from PDF or LinkedIn CV when it's all wrong and messy?
Stacking wood is extra satisfying. While doing so I thought "wow, there is some potential gameplay in that", but then I remembered that Tetris exists... also I wish stacking wood could pay bills.

I'm baffled at the general reception of this. The guy obviously doesn't advocate crunch, but lays down in the clear the harsh reality, that companies like Naughty Dog live in a closed-off environments where, for them specifically, crunch is sustainable as they have a constant influx of new...
I say this with utmost respect, but Taylor is an absolute tool for saying this privately or publicly. I can say on good authority that it takes 7 to 10 years to develop game development skills to “good enough” to produce commercial game content. 7-10 years plus the cost of a university education.
We released our tiny horror adventure game (the fuck is a genre?) on Newgrounds. Check it out if you have like, 5 to 10 minutes. Originally made for the spooky jam hosted by @molegato.bsky.social! www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/...

Somehow, I lived almost three years without being aware of the existence of an absolute masterpiece of story, animation, and especially world building, that is Scavenger Reign.
The big day is tomorrow! Let’s keep looking back at our top games from the last jam! Day 3: Disco Track by bsky.app/profile/tano... A puzzle of rhythm and rails — guide trains across a disco dance floor, syncing them to matching tiles to keep the groove alive! #gamedev #gamejam #indiedev
Matt found the original "brainstorming document" for FTL - Written on a big roll of paper in his apartment in Shanghai over beers. You can see a lot of the foundational ideas there, but this was before we even pictured having ship-to-ship combat.
TFW you find a new song that unraveled a whole new kind of music to you. It felt like finding a soul mate. You expect the rest of the album to simply flip your entire concept of music on its head, only to find it's the only song of this type in that artist's discography. Also he died 20 years ago 🪦
Game companies be like: we proudly believe in a no-crunch policy 😎 Game companies the second production slips: guysss 👉👈
Gothic (by Piranha Bytes) is such a significant part of Polish gaming culture and identity that we often joke it's a Polish game. Some guy named Tadeusz Czomber wrote his art academy thesis in jewelry design titled "Ulu-Mulu. Gothic Saga as a cultural phenomenon forming identity". Some photos 👇
In those few farming games I played (e.g. SV, Coral Island) I feel like their core system of farming itself is just too basic. Usually you rush sprinkler, slap fertilizers so you can do less farming in your farming game and have more time for other side activities like dungeons, fishing and dating.
It's been a while since I was this excited about a new book, but here it is. The third part of Heaven's Vault story, The Flood, by @jon.inkle.co just arrived.
I'm oblivious of any lore behind Sonic, but if he is super fast, why would he race in a car? 🤔 Is he just giving others a fair chance by slowing himself down in a vehicle? 🤔 I've been thinking about it since yesterday's show 🤔

Another curious place I found is this unfinished castle. Originally it was meant to be a single house, but the owner had an additional idea... but no official permit for that "slight deviation" from the plan. Battles in courts lasted a very long time, but eventually (afaik) it was abandoned #urbex
First time I spotted one I was awestruck. It felt like I got in @inkle.co's Heaven's Vault world. Mysterious symbols could be found on walls, ceilings of underground passages, behind vines, back of bus stops. Even on two portal like concrete pipes that somehow ended in a forest (??). Gdynia, Poland
Is "taking a risk" and rapid growth the only answer to having a load of money from previous successes? Seems counterintuitive to take a plunge here. I really admire studios that decide not to grow right after their first success, because that means having a safety cushion for the future.
This War of Mine developer's cancelled Project 8 revealed, a "risky" project that would have been a big departure for the studio www.eurogamer.net/this-war-of-...
