Its distinguishing traits are a lack of interest in collecting propolis, behaving aggressively against intruders, and having low honey production.

Because of this behavior, their honey is inedible and they have a bad habit of destroying plants when gathering materials. If approached carelessly, they will attempt to enter an intruder's orifice and bite from the inside.

While not inherently dangerous, their sharp bites can inflict painful sores on potential attackers.

Despite their advantages and high honey yield, it cannot cope well with harsh winters and often have to consume more food to keep itself warm.

Facts: True to its namesake, the blueberry mason bee specializes in pollinating blueberries, making it ideal for food producers. For that reason, orchards often pair it together with the western honey bee for maximum results. They are very docile and rarely sting.

Facts: Originally from Europe, the yellow jacket made its way to different continents where it immediately flourished. It is an aggressive and predatory wasp feared for their painful stings. Much of the food it forages includes carbohydrates and sugar.

Despite its unique defenses and stronger resistance to disease, its honey production pales in comparison to the Western honey bee. Nonetheless, the bee is a popular choice for very skilled beekeepers in Japan.

A bully who enjoys teasing others, he especially loves targeting Apis mellifera due to the latter's lack of defensive measures against him. He has a fervent dislike of hot temperatures and is fearful of being smothered by multiple people.
Facts: The Asian giant hornet is considered the largest hornet in the world. Known for preferring low mountains and forests as their natural habitat, they have a voracious appetite for bees and other wasps. While a single hornet is almost enough to devastate a defenseless hive, they are largely kept in check by Japanese honey bees.

Facts: A crossbreed between the western honey bee and the African honey bee, this creature has a very aggressive personality that makes it dangerous to approach. It has a stronger preference for pollen over nectar due to its higher reproductive rate. It is surprisingly popular with beekeepers in Central America and South America who believe they are better honey producers than their European counterparts.
