Genuinely cannot find Mexican food in Jersey that is even moderately similar to the Mexican food I grew up eating in the Carolinas and it’s devastating me. Idk if it’s a different style of cuisine or what but everything in New Jersey is comparably so dry and sad 😭.

Something I find very funny is that when I scroll on tiktok every single mainline clergy person that appears on my feed is marked as “people you may know.” I want to be bothered by this, but statistically, I probably do know them lol.

Just had a surprise 1 hour call where I had to biblically defend women being called to the priesthood. Some key quotes include “I just think women are called to a softer life, you shouldn’t have to do all that hard work!” And “How would you balance being a wife and being a priest??” 😭

I think I have officially graduated from dental anxiety guys. I’m actually sitting in the waiting room annoyed (because I do not have time for this appointment) rather than shaking and terrified like I would have been a year ago. Progress!
Got asked about my stance on full communion with the Methodists at a time where I was not expecting it. Unfortunately just said “no.” Probably should have aimed for more nuance there…
I like that other countries still humble their attorneys by making them wear a powdered wig. We should get back to that in the US. I’ve met lawyers, I think it would be good for them.

My favorite regional difference in common sayings is that in the south, children are told “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit,” and in the northeast they’re told “you get what you get and you don’t get upset.” Because of accents, both of these rhyme in their respective locales.
