Currently, Halfbrick's Instagram is teasing huge update for Halfbrick Sports: Football, including 6 new characters (Mari, Betty, Josie, Brains, Zombie, and newcomer Vicky), plus the addition of Auras and Celebrations (and also characters have voices now it seems)

Jetpack Joyride turns 15 today! 🎉🎂 Initially titled Machine Gun Jetpack, this is the third Barry Steakfries game, and undeniably his most popular. Currently, the developers are working to port the game on a new engine, while keeping the gameplay as faithful as possible.

Before getting it's current name, Battle Racing Stars was known as Booster Raiders. Just as it had international release, Discord users could vote for a new name. Ironically, the final name wasn't among the options - it seems to be a combination between "Battle Racing" and "Joyrun Stars".

Selection of names for Battle Racing Stars. "Please order the following names from the one you like the most at the top to the one you like the less st the bottom"

"Battle Joyrun, Joyrun Heroes, Battle Racing, Joyrun Stars, Fun Racing, Super Race Rivals"

Since the DS, Halfbrick has mostly been only releasing their games digitally, which means you unfortunately can't get them physical... That's not to say exceptions don't exist: Fruit Ninja VR and (thanks to PM Studios), Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen are available on disk! (and Switch cartridges)

Jetpack Joyride Stickers 2 was a 2018 app by Bare Tree Media featuring bunch of official art of Jetpack Joyride as stickers. Notably, many of them utilize newer art of Barry in Rock Opera art style, but most other stickers use older artwork.

[Trivia] OTTTD has an ad in which HEROCORP's army travels to the Angry Birds universe and kills it's cast, with Tiffi and Mr. Toffee from Candy Crush Saga as their next targerts. Brief shot from Halfbrick+ trailer omits these parody elements, but Cobalt Plateaus can still be seen in the background.

[News] After being temporarily put on hiatus due to layoffs, Guncrypt is coming back, but as a PC title instead of mobile. This was revealed to us a few days ago in the official Discord server, and this image was posted on Twitter to tease the game.

Feed the Deep, a game by Jetpack Joyride's designer Luke Muscat, includes a reference to his previous work - a mini-game called Mega Great Jetpack (MGJP, reference to Barry's Machine Gun Jetpack and the original working title). It's look is reminiscent of Luke's original flash prototype of the game.

After a little research I had to do for another racetrack, I came to realization why this inaccuracy happened... The layout is a near-accurate recreation of Big Blue from F-Zero, which seems to be a bit of inspiration for Marine Laboratory.

[Trivia] In Jetpack Joyride Racing, preview map for Marine Laboratory that you see after joining a match is oddly inaccurate to both mini-map and the layout as seen in concert art. Presumably, this could be the original layout of the track.

[April Fools] 14 years ago, news site TouchGen gave us an exclusive sneak peak at Jetpack Joyride's iconic 1.3 update, teasing a collaboration with none other than Nintendo's Super Mario Bros., known as "Super Jetpack Mario".

According to the internet, Fruit Ninja FX 2 was released on November 2012. This simply cannot be true, at least due to its use of Katsuro, character introduced in 2014. However, this can still be considered his debut, as FX 2 was first shown at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013 on November 18, 2013.

"Fruit Ninja FX 2 is the second arcade game by Adrenaline Amusements based on Fruit Ninja. This new version still uses the Touch FX touchscreen cabinet. It adds new blades, more fruits, new visuals and the Pomegranate bonus. The player can add his character to the game using small figures found at the redemption counter. Fruit Ninja FX 2 is available as a standalone machine and as an upgrade kit for any Touch FX cabinet. A redemption option is featured. This game is showcased at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2013."

Halfbrick announcing role redundancies in Australia during breakfast on a Saturday morning feels like a choice to me. My best to those impacted. If that's you and you want to chat, you can reach me securely here on dctrjr [at] proton [dot] me (Now with alt text)

Today we’re sharing that Halfbrick is making changes to our team structure, including role redundancies in Australia and the conclusion of a number of engagements internationally.
This was not a decision we made lightly. Like many studios, we are navigating a challenging period for the games industry, and we’ve had to make some hard choices about how we move forward. These changes are driven by organizational and strategic priorities, not individual performance.
The most important thing to say is this: the people affected by this decision have made meaningful contributions to Halfbrick. They have helped shape our games, supported our players, and been an important part of this studio. We are sincerely grateful for everything they have brought to the company.
To everyone impacted, thank you. Your work has mattered here, and we are better for having had the chance to work with you.
We also want to say clearly that we would strongly recommend any of these individuals to any team that is hiring. Halfbrick has always cared deeply about the people we bring in, and there is exceptional talent among those now looking for their next opportunity.
Our focus right now is on handling this transition with care, respect, and genuine appreciation for the people who have contributed so much to Halfbrick.
We wish them nothing but the best in what comes next.

[News] Jetpack Joyride Racing is slowly soft-launching. Already available on iOS, rolling out very soon on Android. Additionally, Halfbrick+ app update is live, introducing a complete overhaul to accommodate for a brand new card system.

[Trivia] In 2014, Halfbrick was in talks with Nickelodeon about TMNT (2012 universe) crossover in Fruit Ninja. A pitch was unsuccessful, and Ghostbusters crossover was created instead. A TMNT crossover would ultimately happen in 2023, but with Mutant Mayhem versions of the Turtles.
