The average residential tax bill would need to go up by $900/year to break even on existing costs in D14. We're doing a $1.7m transit pilot for an area with a ~$3m tax base. Rates need to go up, services be cut, or the tax base needs to grow for this to be sustainable.

To accommodate SailGP 2026, ferry service will pause daily from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. starting Friday, June 19 until Sunday, June 21. Shuttle bus service will replace ferry service during this time. More info: halifax.ca/htdisruptions
