Re-reading this and thinking about asking for directions. It was an act of social trust. Those minor interactions where people can depend on each other build on and build up that trust. Losing them is part of our current social dis-integration. The ties that bind us as a *society* are weakening.

As always: Pirates, emulator devs, modders, and amateur archivists across the internet are so damn important to ensuring that it remains possible to play most video games far into the future. Also: We need PC ports. Even a bad PC port can be fixed up by fans and made playable for years to come.
