I followed @hilltopworks.bsky.social advice and began a playthrough of Boku no Natsuyasumi 2 to play it day by day over August. So here it is for today's #scanlinesunday A charming game with unique vibes and a great translation
Some Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere for today's #ScanlineSunday The game's got some pretty cool vibes with its artstyle and music, kinda like the dogfight answer to Wipeout and Designers Republic. #CRT #RetroGaming
It would be pretty cool if I hit one thousand followers on my birthday in a couple days. Maybe I should flood the zone with some best-of CRT posts. Nah. Gonna do drugs and watch Inland Empire instead. Fuck me up, David.
So, back with some Resident Evil remake on Game Cube, I often replay this game during summer so the chills help endure the heat #scanlinesunday #crt
For today's #ScanlineSunday submission, some Dino Crisis. I started it quite a few years ago but didn't went far, I appreciate it a lot more this time, the island complex looks a bit bland though compared to the locations in the Resident Evil games.
I played the fan translation of Baroque on PS1 recently, such a weird and cryptic game. Character and creature's design is something, as with the atmosphere of the game. #ScanlineSunday
Played some first gen for the 30th birthday of Pokémon and today's #ScanlineSunday This is the game I discovered the licence with and it shows well on Game Boy Player and CRT The starter I chose for my first ever playthrough was Squirtle but I ended up playing all three of them so no real favourite
Happy 40th birthday to the Legend of Zelda ! This is were it all began, a dark cave and a sword. Comic is from Zac Gorman magicalgametime.com
Some Metroid Other M for #ScanlineSunday Yes, the plot and the cutscenes are not great, but I still find the gameplay interesting, especially after the Prime formula that was starting with the third (imo) to overstay their welcome. Taken on a Toshiba 28N33F, with Wii and RGB
Finished FF9 again, might be the tenth-ish time and still the Final I like the most. Hadn't played it on original PS and CRT for a long time though. Some views of Memoria and the ending.
I think the Moogles in FF9 are my favourite in the series, they look so cute. I like delivering their letters and getting their point of view through them over the course of the game.
Visited some more cosy spots, Esto Gaza and Daguerreo are favourites of mine. You got dimmed lights and shelter from cold weather in the first, and plenty of books in the second.
Went treasure hunting in FF9 again and then resumed the journey, Oeilvert and the Desert Palace this time.
The Iifa Tree, I noticed that with the perspective and its perceived scale compared to the characters in the frame, it looks like a nuclear mushroom cloud. And the green glow inside reminds the way radioactive material is shown in pop culture. It might fit the role that giant tree plays in the game.
Stopped by the village of summoners, Madain Sari. The nice earth tones make the ruins strangely warm, like a quiet sunset.
Visited Conde Petie and Black Mage Village. I find Black Mage Village so bittersweet with its cheerful synth theme while some Black Mages and Vivi discuss their finite existence.
Happy 25th anniversary to NA release of FF9 ! As usual we Europeans had to wait a few months more to put our hands on it, but it was worth the patience. Got a few pictures of Pinnacle Rocks and Fossil Roo. Soon to follow, some Outer Continent locations.
Some of Treno's backgrounds, I like the contrasts depending on the lighting
Some more FF9 on CRT, focused on cosy interiors this time and there are plenty of them in this game, so warm
Thought I would join the CRT gang with pictures of my favourite Final Fantasy. Still working around the proper settings with my phone camera, taken with a Galaxy S25 on a Toshiba 28N33F.
