Today's bsky argument about "boots theory" seems to come down, from my perspective, to 2 different ideas of what it says- (1) believe that poor people could make better choices to save themselves out of poverty (2) believe that poverty enacts worse choices, creating cycles of more instability.

We've had effective communication tools that facilitate remote working for easily more than a decade by now, so it never ceases to amaze me how some people seem to equate "working from home" with "has disappeared from the face of the earth."

This gets worse every time I read more about it. Of course CEOs wonder what govt are going to do. The major bank heads meet with ministers on the reg. Especially in a small economy like NZs, govt decisions impact business. It's facile.
