No one else is gonna sing your song @hamo_d on the bad place Wellington adjacent (Upper Hutt) 🇳🇿
Did I mention I've applied for 95 jobs since last September? I did? Oh, ok. Just seemed kind of relevant.
Unemployment rises to 11-year high of 5.6% www.rnz.co.nz/news/busines...
Option 1 seems like an ultra bad faith reading, especially if you take it in the context of what we know about Sir Terry.
Today's bsky argument about "boots theory" seems to come down, from my perspective, to 2 different ideas of what it says- (1) believe that poor people could make better choices to save themselves out of poverty (2) believe that poverty enacts worse choices, creating cycles of more instability.
Thanks a lot Ryanair, oops, I mean Jetstar. What all Wellingtonians really want to know is, how does this affect the carrying-on of Dunkin Donuts? www.stuff.co.nz/travel/36101...
Pay for the overhead locker: Jetstar unveils new carry-on rules
From February 2, if you want to use the overhead locker you’ll have to pay for it.

Updated the spreadsheet I use to track my job applications and I'm up to 95 through formal channels since September last year. I wonder if I get a telegram from the King when I crack the hundy?
Do any of my NZ pocket friends like to make entomology-related art/merch & would like to sell their crafts at our upcoming NZ Entomological Society conference 1st week September? If so, please get in touch. 🪲 🐞 🪱 🪰 🕷
If I could ask Christopher Luxon one question it would be "fuck off".
If I could ask Christopher Luxon one question it would be ‘what’s it like having a spine so porous you can see daylight through it?’
We've had effective communication tools that facilitate remote working for easily more than a decade by now, so it never ceases to amaze me how some people seem to equate "working from home" with "has disappeared from the face of the earth."
I'd actually be amped AF to see Paul Henry try to use reasonable force on the first XV of literally any high school in NZ.

Well this is already going as expected then.

Ohakune is a timewarp and I love it. Haven't seen a bowl latte since the 90s.
This gets worse every time I read more about it. Of course CEOs wonder what govt are going to do. The major bank heads meet with ministers on the reg. Especially in a small economy like NZs, govt decisions impact business. It's facile.

Mahershala Ali has called out Marvel for ‘BLADE’ never happening. “You had me under contract, they have billions of dollars, if they wanted to do the movie, we would've done the movie... I feel ready to move on from the Blade questions. Those are for them.” (Source: www.gq.com/story/mahers...)
I've discarded about three draft posts about this because I can't adequately express my disdain for this. It's an eye-wateringly bad response. I hope he gets dragged mercilessly.

This seems like a vote winning strategy. 🤣
What a twat #nzpol Luxon said if businesses were not “retooling and radically disrupting” their business – “you ain’t doing your job”. He said he knew the “reality” of running a business. “The last person I wanted to ever talk to as a CEO was the Government.”
Stares wistfully from Aotearoa New Zealand.
Not just importing EVs—Volvo's building battery electric trucks in Queensland. Next-gen with 700km range coming. Local manufacturing, cleaner freight, quieter cities, zero diesel exhaust. This is real industrial shift and Australia stands at its gates. #EV
