#FaveLineFriday (Vraka’s POV) Bonus A: Ophelia would keep some miscellaneous sketches and drawing items. She probably would also have a knife in there for some reason. Vraka would have a few weapons in a junk drawer, as well as some random bones. she doesn’t know who they belong to. And some tea.

"Aww, but you'll always be just a little cub to me!" He sauntered
over and obnoxiously ruffled my hair: "Shuddup," I muttered, he just laughed. He began to walk away, his gangly limbs carrying him far in a very short distance. My own short legs, which were sore and bloodied, struggled to keep up with him. It was strange to think of him as older than me, especially with his very immature attitude, but he was in the weird stage of growing where his limbs were all out of proportion and he was growing weird, fine hairs on his face, like a pathetic version of my
fathers huge, braided beard.

The Bone Maiden WIP This is the first time in a while that I’ve written this many words in one sitting. It’s very rough, obviously, and I don’t know if it will actually be in the book or not 🤷‍♀️ Vraka is 13 in the 1st part, and 15 in the 2nd TW: SA #writing #writingcommunity #WriteSky

My knees and hands were covered in mud and blood. My crying
was overshadowed by loud cackling from behind me. "Silly cub!" He bellowed, still laughing at my pain. I frowned, and wiped the tears away from my eyes. I gave him my best glare before
stumbling to my feet. "Don't call me that!" I barked back. I was not a baby. I may have cried a little, but that was because it hurt! And besides, he wasn't
that much older than me, he had no right to call me that. "Aww, but you'll always be just a little cub to me!" He sauntered
over and obnoxiously ruffled my hair: "Shuddup, " I muttered, he just laughed. He began to walk away, his gangly limbs carrying him far in a very short distance. much better at hunting, but I'm sure I will be one day. "Hey, Vraka! Get over here!" He whisper-shouted, ducked behind
a tree. I rushed over to him, and crouched close.
"Did you see something? What's wrong?" I asked. Was it a bear?
Or a lone Straggler: Maybe it's...
He was smirking.

"What? " I asked. "See that rock?" He said, pointing in the distance at a large boulder protruding from the ground. It was sitting just in front of
the forest they were very specifically told not to go near:
"Ye ess? And what about that rock?"
"Wanna race?" He asked with a feverish grin.
"It's almost SunDown, i don't " he cut me off with a wave. "Come on, it'll be fun! Besides, we're almost adults now, we don't
have to follows those silly rules made for silly cubs..." he paused,
"unless... you ARE just a little baby." "I am not!" I said, standing up and stretching out my legs. He
jumped up and took his place beside me. "See! That's more like it! Don't worry, I'll give you a heads start just to be nice and if you win.." he kept speaking, but I was busy
gearing my body up to bolt as soon as he said "go". •...call you cub anymore. But if I win, I get to call you whatever I
want! Got it!"
"Yeah, yeah," I laugh.
He dramatically raises his hand before dropping it.
And I—

And I —
- Run. I trip over roots and sharp brambles, my legs a mess of blood and imbedded thorns. 1 run faster than I ever have, my heart violently
running with me, while swiping the tears out of my eyes. His Footsteps pounded close behind me, long and lanky, but also heavy and strong now. This was a race again, but one that he
wasn't about to let me win.
I cry out in despair, and run, for I had no other option but to run.
To run and run and run. To run as far as my legs could carry me. And when I could no longer run, when my legs finally gave out, when I fell to the ground where I lay muddied and broken and scared, I screamed, and I fought, even when he knelt down on top of me, and whispered "Silly little cub" repeatedly into my ears, even with he exposed my body to the cold air, even when he crudely joked that he had won...i fought. I thought that maybe I just should've been stronger: Even When my father bellowed across the world and scared him away, and cradled me gently in his arms, even when my mother brushed my hair and sang me into a kind of quiet stupor, I felt as though I had just lost something that could
never be replaced.

Today was one of those 10/10 days 😌 I finally got my very own wardrobe (ive never even had a functional closet) and I bought an absolutely beautiful brown suit that looks and feels lovely And i also bought a Hello Kitty figure and shes so stinky cute 🥰 I also started reading a book! Woo!

He was my God, my saviour, He was my only home, and as I watched the vicious carnage shred apart everything I had ever held dear, I realized there would soon be none of us left to save Him. The church had fallen, my fellow saints were scattered, lifeless, across the barren grounds, and as far as I
knew, I was the last Bone Maiden.

I stood on the dais, nine others beside me. Some were standing stoic, some were shifting on spot, their eyes darting around in anticipation.
I stood defeated. Quiet.
I suppose I just did not care anymore, so why should I be scared or excited. I was uncomfortable, though. The outfits we wore were made of some fine material that I had never seen before, but it also sat light on my body, and I felt as though the audience behind me could see every inch of my broken body.

I DO have a character that has a cat Khonri the Khool owns a cat that she treats as her familiar, named MC. MC helps her collect ingredients and keeps mice from eating said ingredients. And MC is a character herself. not because shes, like, a Goddess stuck in the form of a cat or anything 😅

#FaveLineFriday from my newest wip! 2 lifelong friends fall in love while meeting once a year. But one's a monster hunter and the other is a dhampir. Isulf giving Askel a special birthday present 😁 And I'd say Askel would be a cat person!

“Happy Birthday.”

Askel was handed a doll. It had gray cloth as its skin, black yarn for the hair, and big, brown buttons for the eyes. It was wearing a blue shirt and stitched on pants.

“It’s you.” Isulf smiled. “There’s this lady in a coastal town that makes custom dolls. And look.” He showed that it wore a tiny necklace. “I went to a fae forest. And I found more beads to bring back to you. Now, you both match.”

Stunned, Askel held the doll close. His eyes started to water. “Isulf…”

His confidence dwindled. “Do you not like it?” Perhaps he’d read all this signs wrong after all. “I’m sorry. Dammit, I keep overstepping.”

Before Isulf could walk away, Askel wrapped him in a tight hug.

“I love it,” he whispered, his voice soft. “Thank you.”

Why’d I choose a hobby that leaves my hands in complete shambles 😞 (referring to embroidery, which I have recently taken up again) 100/10 skill tho. I am the BEST at embroidery. Like. Nothing can compare to this piece of art. (The covers aren’t the same size, but I totally did that on purpose.)

For Ophelia, she can react in one of two ways. A: she throws a hissy fit (which is really fun to write lol). B: Internal plotting of someone’s complete demise. This doesn’t happens very often and People often forget that Ophelia is exceptionally smart, and knows a lot of ways to dissect a body…

Aethryn is The Mother. She is kind, and clever, and caring. She is who created the land on which we live. She has given us more than we could ever return, so instead, we give her our service. We attend her, we care for her land, and we speak to her prayers of peace and comfort. This will never be equal to what she has granted us, but it is all we can do, and do we will for many years to come.

However, our Mother is disturbed. She is distraught, for now there is an enemy, an evil that threatens her peace.

His name is Death, and he wishes to destroy our Mother, and swath her land in darkness.
His vile savage servant that reek of rot and decay are coming to our home, to the home we, and Mother, has built. Our sanctuary, away from those violent barbarians, is being swarmed, we will soon be taken if we do not stand for what we are.

And stood we have, for many years, and I believe for many years more!

Hold not doubt in your minds, rather, hold the thought of finally ridding our Mothers world from this plague of savagery!

Tonight, my sisters and brothers, we will win this war! We will heal the wounds that they inflicted upon us! There will be no more Death, and bloodshed, and bones of our fallen children!
The world will be Light! And it will be ours!
Mother has not asked for anything of us, but for this! Will we stand for our Mother? Our children? Our futures?

Will we finally free ourselves from the fear of Deaths hands?

Ophelia actually does writes a memoir at the end of DK! It’s mostly reads more like an informational history book about the fall of gods and war, which was the purpose of it. If Malicai would write one, it read as fairly cosy but simple, leaving in just the truths with no embellishments
