Honoured to meet with Bushfire Survivors for Climate Action and hear their stories of resilience. It's appalling that the costs of climate disasters continue to be paid by regular Australians and communities. Big polluters should be picking up the tab for the crises they create.

The first responsibility of governments is to protect us from foreseeable harm. As we head into a super El Nino summer, our government must act with more urgency to protect us from climate risks.

You may have missed it as the media was silent, but late yesterday the Labor-dominated committee looking into Lidia Thorpe’s bill to ban strip searches of children delivered its final report. The answer to overwhelming evidence of harm? Nothing that would stop a single search.

Amy notes that China has joined Japan is now onselling Australian gas. FMD we *really* need to tax the gas. Barely a more obvious policy has presented itself. One political party will do it and they will get all the advantage. #TaxTheGas www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/politic...

In Australia, we’re too busy looking at the next carriage on the political sushi train to realise the track itself is broken.

Soaring LNG prices are set to reverse a forecast revenue slump, delivering an unexpected $23 billion boost to the nation’s biggest gas exporters.
