Together with @harnoslab.bsky.social, we compiled what is known about direct interactions of Wnt and Notch components, and advanced the testable framework of how the crosstalk could allow for a more polarized cellular response to one pathway or the other.
Why do we lose so much talent in academia? Let’s talk about it – openly, together, responsibly. NEXT TUESDAY AT 5:30 PM. PI Forum Brno #7 | Feb 3 @ CEITEC MU For all PIs, PhDs & researchers in Brno. Chaired by @fabianlab.bsky.social
New Paper Alert! 1982: WNT discovered 1990s: NOTCH enters the stage 2000s: “Let’s study pathways separately.” 2025: “Actually, they talk to each other.” Welcome to the era of WNT-NOTCH crosstalk Great collaboration with Mašek lab (CZ) and G. Collu (US) royalsocietypublishing.org/rsob/article...

Behind the Paper: How PRICKLE3 Found Its Place in WNT/PCP Signalling
Behind every research paper, there is a long story that is usually invisible to the reader. Our paper is no exception. What began as a focused cell biology project gradually developed into a broad, co...

PRICKLE3 protects VANGL proteins from CK1-mediated phosphorylation and RNF43-mediated degradation - Communications Biology
We mapped PRICKLE1–3 interactomes and identified PRICKLE3 as a key WNT/PCP regulator that stabilizes VANGL via CK1ε–RNF43 control, revealing a PRICKLE3-specific mechanism shaping polarity across verte...

Developmental toxicity of fluconazole and 1,2,4-triazole in Xenopus laevis - PubMed
Fluconazole (FLU) is a widely used antifungal agent frequently detected in surface waters because of its extensive use in medicine, agriculture, and personal care products.Despite concerns about its persistence and developmental toxicity in aquatic species, its effects on amphibians remain poorly un …

MAGA — Make AMPHIBIANS Great Again! 🐸 We just wrapped up the 2nd Czech Amphibian Friends meeting: great interactions, strong science, midnight swimming, and exciting collaborations ahead. Big plans for 2026 — stay tuned! Vladimir Krylov, we missed you! Proud to help organize this event.
Our PhD student Šárka is now giving a chalk-talk presentation on her Prickle and neurulation work in front of her fellow students — and she is doing great! Go, Šárka! 🐸💪 #MUNI #PhDretreat #Xenopus #frogpower
How do you make a group of scientists really busy? Organize a scientific speed-dating session! Three minutes per pair — the clock is brutal. Happy to host this one! 🔬⏱️😄 #PhDretreat #MUNI
Honored to give a talk about Xenopus at the prestigious IMG courses in Prague today! Excited to introduce this amazing frog model to new audiences. 🐸 #FrogPower
A proper hashtag#WoodstockBio2 welcome for @odedrechavi.bsky.social — complete with the YMCA song (yes, really 😄). With @harnoslab.bsky.social we couldn’t resist celebrating a scientist who truly embodies fun and courage in science. #science #FabianLAB, @paveltomancak.bsky.social 🙏
It’s fantastic to meet Oded Rechavi at my home institution! 🔥 Great chat about his work on the Dead Sea Scrolls, where his team used DNA analysis to reveal that some fragments came from different animals and regions — rewriting what we thought we knew about the oldest Bible. 📜🧬
It’s my greatest pleasure to co-organize this event! 🚀 PIs from Brno: come join us and see what this supportive initiative is all about! 🙌 #BrnoScience #YoungPIs #Networking
Just finished an amazing EMBO Lab Leadership course! 50% of my excitement comes from the inspiring lecturers Aiden and Petra, and the other 50% from meeting 14 brilliant young PIs — the next generation of leading scientists in Europe.
For all Xenopus lovers: the CSHL Xenopus Course is coming in 2026! 🐸 Led by the awesome @walenteklab.bsky.social & Rachel Miller. Don’t miss it! 💪 #frogpower
Just wrapped up my first-ever poster presentation in BOTH English & Spanish 🎉 A truly fantastic experience! Learned that it’s not the poster itself that matters, but how we speak about science 🧪✨ Viva México! 🇲🇽
🇲🇽 Hola, buenos días from México! The VI Neurobiological Conference has just kicked off. Excited to step out of my comfort zone and represent not only our lab at Masaryk University, not only Brno, not only Czechia… but maybe even Europe! 🌍 Greetings from the heart of wild & central Mexico!🧠
Today I start the first lecture of my course Developmental defects (Bi1152en) at Masaryk University 🎓 My favorite part: to show how scientists in Mexico 🇲🇽 in 18–19th century were sometimes ahead of European colleagues, who were the “flagship” of science at that time. @jbwallingford.bsky.social
