Bagann existed pre-ShB as a Roegadyn that was the only time I used a fantasia on him. By the time he was a Hrothgar I had a bit of lore that he was disguised with a special prism that finally broke on Stormblood’s ending. His old look was reused for Baraskaet at first, then I decided Hellsguard.

I went through exactly this with my very first OC. A certain popular group drew and depicted him in ways I was both uncomfortable and disgusted with. It took a LOT of retconning and a complete overhaul to feel good about him again. Thankfully I’m back to feeling right about him again.

Each time you see them a reminder of anxiety or the people you may have distanced yourself from. Take time. Rework them. Redesign them. Or perhaps move on. Don't feel bad if you have to do the last option.
