I think it’s important to separate the past from the future. Howe has done amazingly, that team he built is the best I’ve seen. 22-23 & the highs of 24-25 were incredible. But the club had decided to change approach & that probably means he wasn’t right for what’s next. #NUFC

Eddie Howe brought #NUFC a trophy. He is a legend. But a lot of the off-field upheaval over years stemmed from his arrival before a DoF, bringing six coaches & his nephew. Power struggles were regular. His exit means the structure flows a lot better. Should have happened in May.

It’s easy to dismiss that as pre-season. But given the noise around the club, everything is amplified. Team looks like it hasn’t evolved tactically. #NUFC so busy looking to the future but it is on Howe to look after the present too. The only reason to have faith is faith itself.

Sensible move for #NUFC to tie Barnes down. Profit unlikely anyway, he’s still a consistent source of goals and an experienced head in the squad, which is critical at this point. He’s not Gordon but a good bridge to allow Toure to settle in.
