8 of the federal defendants who were sentenced to outrageously long terms are ALSO a part of a larger group of defendants fighting state terrorism charges. In total 20 people are still fighting various state charges. 6 defendants' have trial dates set in the next 3 to 6 months. While appealing their unjust federal verdicts and sentences, these 8 defendants will also have to fight their state cases in Johnson County. We still need good state lawyers to fight these cases so continue to donate to the legal fund, host fundraisers, and spread the word about the case. One of the state defendants, Janette Goering, wrote a statement about the sentencing of the federal defendants. Here is her statement:Graphic with first part of Janette’s statement.Graphic with second part of Janette’s statement.

Absolutely devastating sentences announced for Prairieland defendents today. We urge everyone to pay attention to these stories, and use this anger to fuel our resistance. Solidarity forever. "When will you be called a domestic terrorist, too?"

HFT is actively encouraging "black bloc" attire for anyone who chooses to attend the No Kings protests on March 28. History has proven bloc to be an effective protest tactic that simultaneously protects our anonymity and promotes our solidarity.

CALL FOR NO KINGS BLOC:

What is bloc?

Black Bloc is the practice of dressing in nondescript clothing that covers identifiable features. Concealing our identity provides many advantages during protest: it prevents doxxing by agitators and shields ourselves against surveillance which can be used against us in court, even when our actions are fully legal. When several people act in bloc together, it also provides a shared anonymity between protestors, which in turn protects all of us.

Solidarity with the Prairieland defendants:

A federal trial in Fort Worth, Texas has led to protestors being charged with “material support for terrorism.” The FBI presented the protestors’ use of “black bloc” as evidence of criminal intent. This is a blatant suppression of political dissent. The administration’s attempt to associate bloc with criminal activity is merely a strategy to justify arrest of innocent people exercising their freedom of expression. We must stand in solidary with the defendants, stand up for our right to dissent, and show the people that wearing protective gear is not a crime.

In response we say:

NO FASCISM. NO KINGS.
TOGETHER WE WEAR BLOC ON THE STREETS.

We stand in solidarity with the Prairieland defendants and with political prisoners everywhere!

The Prairieland verdict is a reminder not to count on the courts to stop the rise of fascism. This case is intended to set a precedent enabling the government to suppress all forms of resistance. It must not discourage us from fighting as hard as we can against them. Fighting is our only hope.

It's Safer in the Front

Faced with intensifying repression and state violence, there is an understandable inclination to seek safety by avoiding confrontation. But this is not always the most effective strategy.

The intent of these show trials is to staunch any dissent. The goal is to strike fear in activist communities so that people stop organizing. It works, but only when the population allows it to work. When the population doesn’t stand up to defend dissent. When the population stays quiet. 🦗 🦗 🦗

The Road to Prairieland

The crackdown on anti-ICE activists in Texas reflects a pattern of intensifying repression all around the country.

In a time where surveillance infiltrates our daily lives, messages in your icloud and phone's internal memory are used as "evidence" for criminal activity (prairieland), payment data is subpoenaed to identify your email accounts (stop cop city), everyone needs to step up on cybersecurity.
