i was *so* hyped when i saw this submission come in. this one is going to be really fun

london gleamlins, come join us on the 18th of august for a meetup! @renatillas.dev will be talking to us about event sourcing, and i'll of course be preaching the good word about #atproto and maybe there'll be a little surprise launch too 🤭 luma.com/vacn20ag

now you can achieve oauth too* tangled.org/hayleigh.dev... *if you use `at` as a git dep

If you're seeing this then we've achieved oauth 🫡
hype for this immediately disappeared the moment i saw it was in the US 😔
ANNOUNCEMENT: I’ve been working on putting together something between a retreat and a hackathon for #atproto builders for the past several weeks. I’ve been in discussion with potential funders and some funding has become available to make this a reality. now, I need your help!! KEEP READING 👇🏽
implementing atproto oauth got me dizzzyyy 😵💫 because gleam supports two targets with different concurrency methods the preferred approach is "sans-io" where the api doesnt perform async operations directly but instead exposes functions to construct requests, decode responses, etc...
do i know any folks in london with a space i could swing by and cowork in one day next week?
i added a bunch of ai-related words to my mutelist and now all my feeds are fucking clanker accounts sprouting nonsense what bullshit is this
its always so fun to come across things built with @xyflow.com in the wild 💕doubly so when its atproto too ^.^
been a little bit since i touched up my web app prismaliser.app, but inspiration finally hit me to do some refactoring, making everything work browser-side, moving away from next, AND: adding support for sharing schemas with #atproto!!
please nobody fill this out. some folks are suspicious that its from the dept of geography, but the suspicious part is there is no information sheet on who the researcher is or the purpose/use of the data collected. no ethics committee would allow this not least cambridge. please dont fill it out

nobody asked by here's my take on the lexicon discourse... schemas describe structure but they don't dictate semantics. you cant (and shouldnt) change that! its good and by design that records can be re-interpreted by other apps.
was making some progress on lexi (lexicon codegen tool for gleam) thinking "oh i wont worry about circular references for now, im sure they dont come up often"... only to discover they come up immediately when fetching lexicons referenced by app.bsky.feed.post womp womp
ignoring the fact the code is literally The Worst, i thought building a lexgen cli would be a good way to dogfood `at` its not much but working out how to resolve the actual lexicon json just from the name was pretty satisfying 😌
are there any gleam sympthatic orgs in london that might donate some space for a meetup next month 👀 what if we made it atproto flavoured 👁️👄👁️
i get that this is nice for some folks but if i did this then the only time i’d get to spend on my favourite hobby would be: - my job - staying up too late in the week … i mean i do that too but why not use the weekends too!
I don’t code on weekends. I haven’t in over ten years. Try it. Let your brain relax a bit.
relationship with atproto rapidly deteriorating as i descend into madness reading these specs
anyone know where i can find some good test data to test my cbor implementation for `at`? seems kinda tricky to find good robust tests from other communities, the dasl-testing fixtures are super minimal for example tangled.org/hayleigh.dev...

much to the disappointment of my peers i've started working on Yet Another Atproto Library For Gleam ™️ which i think puts us at three WIPs not counting the vibe coded one. obviously *my* wheel is gonna be the best one though 😌
[Jigsaw voice] Hello atproto developer. Your job is to leave this room without reinventing the wheel in front of you. The door is unlocked, and you can just walk out with the wheel you’ve been given.
i kind of ended up at @localfirstconf.com on a whim, im adjacent to a lot folks in that space but not really a part of it. walked away after yesterday having never felt so enthused and energised after a conf. @inkandswitch.com in particular are something really special. if you can, go next year.
it was a long time brewing but im definitely atprotopilled now.
@localfirstconf.com has been so inspiring today, definitely a lot of ideas churning

seems like every other package published to hex these days has been vibe coded,, are there any discussions in the BEAM community about the long-term effects this is gonna have on our package ecosystem?
being restricted on moving in an out of europe is a real bummer when events like this pop up while im back in the uk, fucking brexit
