Latest haircards I've been working on coming in at 24k tris. I wanted to use this as a challenge that I've been working on recently to not only make good hairstyles but make them good and lowpoly which I feel is going well! More renders on artstation: www.artstation.com/artwork/dyvan1

Been gently chipping away at a simple ponytail. I'm currently having to ration personal work due to wrist/hand pain that I like to think is from lifting heavy at the gym but is likely due to getting older and always working catching up to me 🥲
Very excited to share my realtime hair flipbox in collaboration with @flippednormals.bsky.social You will get a bunch of my hair assets and tutorials all for a fraction of the price! flippednormals.com/products/the...

Wrapped up my latest XGen groom based on a hairstyle from 'The Last Duel'. There's still a few things that I'm not entirely happy with but was ready to finish this off!
My least favourite thing to do in xgen is braids, so naturally I'm torturing myself with doing a braid heavy hairstyle (very early wip)
Re-rendering old hairs in unreal while I'm cooking some other stuff www.artstation.com/artwork/gReNOQ
Yet another reminder for all the non-black comic book artists out there. The same around of research and reference pulling y’all do for everything else in your work, do the same amount of research for black people. Especially our hair. There’s literally no excuse.
How comics artists draws Black characters:
I love the fact I'm constantly learning but its so frustrating that I constantly feel like my hair tutorials are getting outdated all the time😭
A look at the highpoly as well- its been really fun to dabble back in character art again, especially on a project that's been on my inspo board for years
Being absolutely done in by feathers that have feathers on their feathers 😮💨 Next up is the fox tail groom before I go on to retopology and the costume again
First pass of the hair after getting all the guides in.. must admit I think I'm cooking with this one

Got far enough to justify getting some hair going as a treat
Reposting a message I put out to my discord group, figured I'd post here just in case: linktr.ee/hazel.brown
Getting some clothes blocked in! She's looking a bit yassified and glam at the moment but will circle back to the face once i get some more stuff in
Trying to lock in and remind myself how to make characters (hair will be insane on this one though) #WIP
Thankyou for everyone's help on this! Turned out it was having nanite support checked on in the mesh- I think I'm going to turn it off entirely for any hair lookdev projects going forwards 😂
Can any unreal wizards help me understand why I'm getting these hard edges on my haircards in ue6? The mesh itself is smooth etc. I've seen others with the same issue but haven't found a solution

I wish my parents thought about my potential personal branding when choosing my name
Almost done- realised right at the end of recording I didn’t increase the resolution of the saved videos from obs 🙃 it shouldn’t make a huge difference overall but just not as crisp as I would usually like
Eyebrows/Eyelashes tutorial coming soon
I'm going to be putting together a quick eyebrows and eyelash tutorial since its by far my most requested tutorial- does anybody have any questions/requests for me to cover?
Happy to share my most recent XGen groom since full grooms are sorely lacking in my portfolio! Slowly coming round to enjoying the xgen process Check it out on artstation: www.artstation.com/artwork/eR6BQ6
Been working here and there on a full XGen groom since I don't have many in my personal folio. Almost there just needs a proper breakup and detail pass (and also a better render scene)
Put together some notes on babyhairs and hairlines since I notice common mistakes: www.artstation.com/blogs/hazelb...

Is this image AI??? I can't find the origin in reverse image search but any 'tells' in the style look like they can be somewhat justified.. I'm so sick of ai all over pinterest, man
A quick hairstyle made over a few days to test some maya issues I was having (now resolved yippie!) Kept it pretty low poly coming in at 20k tris.
