A new report by @healrewilding.org.uk shows that wildlife is rebounding at their Somerset site. After three years of rewilding, recorded bird species have soared from 67 to 94, butterfly species have risen from 11 to 24 and small mammals are also growing in number 🦋 🧵5/8

There's nothing plain about this 'plain pollen-moth'! One of our volunteers captured this beauty at Heal Somerset recently, and we have been marvelling at the flamboyant bronze sparkle of its wings and its furry crown. Moths are excellent pollinators and are a crucial part of a healthy ecosystem.

It's encouraging to see buds emerging among the willow grove planted around the beaver wetlands last year! This is a harbinger of spring and a heartwarming teaser of how the area might look if the willows continue to flourish - although their roots won't have fully implanted yet.
