Electrifying regional air travel ✈️
Our X1 demonstrator recently completed low-speed taxi testing at our flight-test base at Plattsburgh International Airport, marking an important milestone in the aircraft's ground-testing program ahead of FAA special airworthiness certification and first flight.
Late April 2026: George Eckert, Head of Manufacturing at Heart Aerospace, monitors the fabrication of a flight-control system component for Heart X2. As the X1 demonstrator approaches first flight, Heart’s manufacturing team is moving at pace to advance the X2 pre-production aircraft in parallel.
We're reminded today that protecting Earth belongs not only to individuals, but to industry. Reducing aviation emissions will require genuine innovation and we're helping make that change. It won't happen overnight, but it starts with building the right commercial aircraft.
Mid-April 2026: Engineering Intern Daniel Oviedo briefs Senior Flight Sciences Engineer Shams Khalil and members of the aerodynamics team on flight sciences analysis during a technical review meeting at Heart Aerospace headquarters in Los Angeles.
March 2026: Principal Loads Engineer Sean O’Meara and Sr. Mechanical Engineer Anna Lummus monitor loads data during testing of the Heart X1. A full-scale flying demonstrator, X1 is built to validate aircraft architecture and key technologies ahead of our next prototype, Heart X2.
With more than 20 years of experience in rapid aircraft prototyping, Principal Mechanical Engineer Matthew Wright has played a central role in bringing the Heart X1 from CAD concept to life as the world’s largest battery-electric aircraft.
Sr. Elec. Engineer Holli Honnette leads a propulsion system research team in support of the ES-30 hybrid-electric program at our Los Angeles Pilot Plant. This 30-seat regional airliner will radically lower operating costs and significantly reduce emissions on short-haul routes.
Heart Aerospace Head of Manufacturing George Eckert operates a CNC mill at the company’s Los Angeles Pilot Production facility, fabricating precision structural components for the Heart X1 demonstrator aircraft.
February 2026: Senior Battery Cell Engineer Cameron Martin monitors cell testing in the battery lab at Heart Aerospace's Los Angeles Pilot Plant (LAPP), where battery packs for the Heart ES-30 hybrid-electric aircraft are under development.
Sayan Saha spent his systems integration internship building flight controls that will help launch the world’s largest battery electric aircraft. Our Fall 2026 internships will open soon. If you’re ready to help define the future of regional air travel, we want to hear from you.
Heart X1 in progress: Plattsburgh, January 2026.
Happy New Year from Heart Aerospace! From LA to Plattsburgh, the Heart team is charged up for our biggest year yet.
Whether by sleigh or electric aircraft, we’re all about getting you home for the holidays. ⚡️✈️

On this day in 1903, the Wright Bros. changed history with a flight that launched 120+ years of aviation progress. At Heart Aerospace, we proudly follow in their footsteps. On December 17, 2021, we flew our sub-scale demonstrator. This Wright Bros. Day, we’re hard at work building what comes next.
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Heart Aerospace! 🦃
Wrapping up another fantastic day at our Plattsburgh facility! Stay tuned for updates on the amazing progress our team has been making! 🛠
