Today we celebrate James Baldwin – a Black, queer writer who refused to soften the truth to make it easier to swallow. He never let this country look away from itself. Happy birthday to a writer who gave us the language to face what needed facing, and the courage to keep going after.

Today we honour the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. A moment that reshaped history and ignited a global movement for queer liberation. Stormé DeLarverie, Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera lit the first sparks of resistance and their legacy reminds us that Pride has always been a protest.
