It’s time: there has been so much broken glass and shards of metal in the bike lanes on the Eastside that I’m going tubeless. First on my TR road bike and, if I like it, I’ll convert my commuter.

#TdF organizers and #UCI - who keep touting “safety” - really need to avoid or better protect around road furniture like this. Sad to see Vingegaard injured and out of the Tour. Another view shows it was >90° and narrow to get around it. Other side was wider but on the inside of the sharp turn.

Took my friend to Vesper - his first time up there. Unfortunately it was completely socked in and he only got a brief hazy view of beautiful jade Copper Lake, but enjoyed the hike. It’s a difficult one with varied terrain and a snow field, but we’ve climbed many and glaciers together.

Took the Scouts on a 3-day backpacking trip in central Washington. Though a desert, temperatures were decent but very strong winds made for dusty conditions. It’s pretty for a change and was nice but I prefer the Pacific Northwest forests and mountains.

I love bantering with my “baby” sis - she’s 16 years younger.

Proud of my little girl! She graduated high school yesterday as president of her National Honors Society chapter. Some family was able to make it to Seattle to be with her. Hard to know what the future will hold with everything going on, but hope we taught her to make (mostly) good decisions.

I really have to stop finding yaks to shave. 🙄 Thought of a cool idea for #zellij that would help me be a little more productive but I first have to make a change in #clap-rs if Ed is open to it. I did prototype it easily in my local completions but then went down a rabbit hole to upstream it.

Now that i have a standard.site blog i see how this is tricky. I dont really want to implement auth for my personal site, but seemingly i would need that for a subscribe button to work In rss you just copy the url into your reader, in atproto that doesn't exist

I contributed a late change to make #rustlang errors easier to use like how we define them in the #AzureSDK and found in many other popular crates.
