This is nuts. @murray.senate.gov: “Tying funding for transit projects to marriage rates and how many babies a woman has is the sort of bizarre and dystopian idea you’d expect in a TV show, not actual policy put forth by the U.S. government — yet here we are."

Trump administration unveils plan to tie high birth and marriage rates to transit funding

The federal government is seeking to revamp a national program that supports rail and bus rapid transit.

who knows if jackson can win this thing but i am glad that he is making clear that susan collins's whole scam is to do everything she can to make life worse for mainers and then take credit for mitigating it in the slightest way possible

Troy Jackson after Collins takes credit for rural healthcare cuts in big beautiful bill not being as bad as they could've been even though she voted to advance the bill: "Sen. Collins is like an arsonist who helped set the fire, and then she wants credit for bringing a cup of water to put it out"

We’re absolutely going to land in a place where “let the police handle immigration enforcement once they’re properly trained” as the response to mass deportation. It’s going to drive me up a wall and I’m going to repeatedly point out how this will only further entrench mass deportation as a policy.

Breaking news: DHS sped up training for police officers making immigration arrests by scaling back instruction on the nation’s immigration laws and real world scenarios they might encounter, according to emails reviewed by the Post.

If you haven't read this book yet, I envy you because it's so good that i wish i could start it again as if it was the first time. But also, if you don't own a copy of this book yet, and you want to, then you can buy this version! I might have to buy this one just because!

I think it is crucial for the health of the Democratic party that the entire consultant class from previous administrations, including and especially Clinton, be told to go home and stop bothering people. They are wrong about everything and have been holding the party back for decades.

This will be one of the most important immigration cases in a generation. The Trump admin claims that a 1996 law mandates the detention of millions of people without any right to a bond hearing; every person who entered illegally, no matter how long in the past. If they win, it's a nightmare.

@susanrinkunas.com and I have been working on this story for months. It was supposed to publish later this week, but that's news! Despite Bailey's resignation, it's still very relevant. Read to learn about how the Trump admin could use criminal investigations to attack abortion access:

Autonomy News@autonomynews.co · last wk.

NEW: Andrew Bailey, the FBI's No. 2, has resigned. He may have set the stage for investigations into abortion pill providers. As Trump faces pressure to restrict pills, FBI Director Kash Patel recently said he was open to criminal probes. The public wouldn't know until someone's in handcuffs

"To say that we're gob smacked is an understatement" Cultural Landscape Foundation blisters Team Trump for shutting down public comment on Trump Monumental Arch Group says Trump Admin has deemed 1000's of public concerns about Arch to be "meaningless, unimportant & of no value whatsoever"

"The danger is... that the President would be chilled from taking the 'bold and unhesitating action' required of an independent Executive... the hesitation to execute the duties of his office fearlessly and fairly... 'under a pall of potential prosecution.'" Thanks, Chief Justice Roberts!

What an odd moment in United States history. A U.S. president is running an overtly political camaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government. Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/27/u...

They're banking on it... BECAUSE... they have nothing else to offer us besides relying on burnt out Trump voters. Maybe they could try acting like their main goal when they get back in power isn't funding Israel and blocking impeachment efforts? Maybe they could do more than kitchen table pablum?
