God, there's a fifteen-gazillion-page ramble in me about how Spellforce was an rough, uncut gem of a strategy game, gleaming with potential, and how Spellforce 2 cut out everything that made it special and turned it into the most milquetoast Warcraft III clone.

One of my favourite bits of obscure Warhammer trivia is that, simultaneously, the Warhammer Fantasy world exists as a backwater planet in 40k somewhere in the galaxy, but also that all of the 40K setting is a snow globe on the shelf of some wizard in Altdorf in Warhammer Fantasy.

Concept: 'The world's greatest detective' isn't a unique title. In truth, it's a title of recognition awarded to private eyes who have cracked a certain number of 'unsolveable' cases. In truth, there are about fifty 'world's greatest detectives' in the US east coast area at any given time.

My pet peeve about the third FFVII-R game is the name looks like it fits the scheme, but doesn't. You have RE-make, RE-birth, but then RUH-velation? Get the fuck out of here. The first two also have the theme of new beginnings and starting over again, which the third abandons. It's also too long!

Helena Athena Isabella@helabella.bsky.social · 2w agoBorderlands 4 is free to play this weekend so I might as well give it a try I suppose. Loved this series, but I can't say my hopes are much higher than 'fun looty shooty mayhem'. Anything beyond that I'm gonna chalk up as a bonus.
Cissia is my favourite agent, so that, combined with my entire not-attracted-to-men-in-the-slightest-ness is heavily colouring my perception of Severian, which means that the story is gonna have to do a LOT of heavy lifting to endear him to me, because I instinctively dislike him.
