After Wired published an article about Alpha School that included how they were using IXL, IXL terminated their account, because it was an abuse of their ToS, and also was reaping massive amounts of money on the strength of IXL's--not Alpha School's--tech.

I can think of no earthly reason why you would do AP Physics 1 AND AP Physics 2 in the same year in a High School if you didn't have to. You'd 'deliver' the material by lecture, but have NO time for checking for understanding/retrieval practice/applying cognitive science so you actually learn it.

I've been in the US for 9 years, and have been told often that physics is applied math(s). This is a mystery to me -there are so many phenomena with a lovely physics explanation + no math(s), like why sunsets are red here, blue on Mars. Because HIGHER level physics needs math(s)... 1/2

Brilliant transition from centre of mass to torque in APC Physics! We (I) cut a wooden spoon at the centre of mass, and lo! Unequal masses! They got another one + a ruler + made some measurements +assumptions, and lo!! Equal masses! No one has every got it spot on before. #iteachphysics
