midnight | spirit ---- matter spirit // our personal values • ideals • feeling part of something bigger than oneself matter // our (physical) body, the earth, money, structure without spirit we have no meaning without matter we have no anchor spirit provides meaning matter gives us support

midnight thoughts | take me back to the timeless era of the slow dance, dtr conversations, handwritten letters, and analog moments. take me back to the time when being direct with matters of the heart is a strength, not a liability.

midnight | i can stay in my own lane, focus on my own goals, do no harm, & some people might still get irritated by me that's their stuff. i'll continue being me. (this actually happened in the past for me. it initially confused me. now i know, it's not at all related to me.)

the physical heart has its own neurons like the brain does this is why our "gut instinct" is real: the heart appears to register emotionally significant information fractionally before the brain shows a response, and before the stimulus is consciously processed."

late night thoughts | going from being religious ---> doing all the things some church folks dismiss as "devilish" (tarot cards / cartomancy, praying to multiple non-physical beings & guides, etc.) 😏😏😏 miss me with the criticism, there are multiple ways to experience the sacred and the divine 🌀

what's the most number of books people can actively maintain reading at one time? three was a bit too overwhelming for me. one gave two little novelty. so i usually have two going on: a non-fiction book & a novel. 📗📙 #BookSky

i'm in a khalil gibran mood. "but I say to you that when you work you fulfill a part of earth's furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born, and in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life, and to love life through labour is to be intimate with life's inmost secret."

two ways i accommodate myself as someone who's autistic: 1. i sit at the front of a bus to minimize sensory overload (people's bags being in my personal space, etc.) 2. turning on the white noise feature native to iPhones (video below) #ActuallyAutistic

if you're a fellow autistic human, here is the cover of a free workbook that's meant to help you remember your internal resources for mental + emotional wellbeing and functioning. (i'd post the link but it looks too shady / like a scam link when it's not. lol)

midnight thoughts // i've felt weird when other women complimented me + put themselves down in the process. an IRL example: them: your hands are so elegant --> me: thanks so much! --> them: mine are stubby --> me: no, don't put yourself down like that
