Tested out the major AI coding assistants over the past couple of months. Here's my thoughts. Claude Code: Great all rounder, best at UI Gemini CLI: Good at most tasks, mediocre at UI OpenAI Codex: Good at backend, fucking terrible at UI, and has a massive hard on for bloated NPM dependancies.
