Gotta admit, kinda fun tying people up in logical knots over the settlement of the civil rights case in the aftermath of the George Floyd protest in #Worcester. To wit: The police narrative was that night was total mayhem with protesters doing all kinds of crazy 💩 ...

Once again. Grateful for @speedofwhite.bsky.social who uploads your shows to the radios worcester website.

Narrator: The Dupe, or useful idiot, has long been a part of the private equity playbook. They think they're finally being recognized for a talent that really doesn't exist when, in fact, the recognition makes them vulnerable to carrying out that which experienced people reject out of hand.

Very compelling all around but my favorite detail is that Scott Pelley had never even heard of Bari Weiss before she was put in charge of his newsroom

I call this trend Media Capture, established brands that are bought and then turned for political purpose. We saw it in talk radio and national media writ large. The despair journalists feel over "60 Minutes" is akin to seeing a battalion HQ fall.

If Scott Pelley keeps up with "CBS News is on fire" and new management keeps up with "this would never be tolerated in any other work place" the conflict will continue. www.cnn.com/2026/06/07/m... The page can only be turned when Weiss is replaced. But there's no sign of that yet. Stelter:

I respect conservative point of view. What I don't respect is hypocrisy. The Sheriff's Department was $11.2M over budget last year, but magically has resources to deploy to a town that voted for ... wait for it ... fewer services. Will he offer to help fund the schools that will be underfunded, too?

Thanks to Dan for the shout-out. Julia is one of the most respected journalists covering tech, so when she speaks you should listen. Directionally, Meta and FB have been heading this way for a while, so it's no surprise. What's new here is the data. Having said that ...

New at Media Nation: Facebook may be fading, but it's still the leading platform for older audiences and local news. #journalism dankennedy.net/2026/05/08/f...
