"Cloudy, with a Chance of Autumn" Washington’s North Cascades puts on their fall colors while the evergreens stand tall and the clouds photobomb the peaks.

Soft golden light, snow-dusted peaks, wood smoke, and the gentle waters of Lake Wenatchee capture the essence of autumn in the high country. #landscapephotography #autumn
Ruby Glow - Taken several years ago, this late afternoon scene took my breath away! When I first arrived at this location, the clouds were the typical late afternoon puffy type. Within minutes this formation developed. Unforgettable. (Ruby Range, Colorado) #landscapephotography #fallcolor #colorado
I really enjoy the perspective of a drone shot above a colorful forest. From this perspective, individual trees disappear into a wonderful patchwork of gold, orange and red. This image was taken several years ago near Crested Butte, Colorado which has some mighty impressive fall color.
Learning to anticipate the tides is becoming another part of coastal photography for me. It's not just about finding the right place or light. It's also about being there when the ocean decides to put everything in the right place. Yea, not exactly spontaneous photography, but it can be rewarding.
"Threads of Spring" - Death Valley doesn't exactly have a reputation for being lush. But give the desert the right amount of winter rain, and life finds every opportunity it can. For a few brief weeks this past spring, the desert became something entirely different. #LandscapePhotography
"Blushing Volcano" - I was impressed at the recovery of the Mount St. Helens area that was devastated 46 years ago. Even with a dramatically changed landscape, area has slowly and beautifully been rebuilding itself ever since. Nature just doing its thing! #landscapephotography
Thousands of leaves. Hundreds of branches. For this series of images, rather than isolating a single tree, they explore how trunks, branches, and foliage weave together into living patterns. Cheers! #landscapephotography #forests #woodlands
"Painted by Dawn" - Death Valley National Park can obviously be very harsh in many aspects, but if one gets up early, the soft color palette of the amazing geology is on full display. Cheers! #desertlandscape, #desertphotography, #landscapephotography
Divided, Yet One - Hidden within the forests of Olympic National Park, Soc Duc Falls splits into three graceful cascades, its glacier-fed waters carving a timeless path through moss and stone. Cheers! #OlympicNationalPark #WashingtonState #PNW #Waterfall #NaturePhotography #LandscapePhotography
Cathedral of Green - Scenes like this remind me why the Pacific Northwest is home to some of the most enchanting forests on Earth—a place where water, light, and time work together to create something quietly magical.(Merriman Falls, WA)
What are you looking at? If you guessed clouds, snow, popcorn, cotton balls, cauliflower, or sheep, keep guessing:-) Answer in the comments.

"Coast with the Most" - The soft light and restless surf created one of those scenes that doesn’t shout for attention, but slowly pulls you in the longer you stand there. (Rialto Beach, WA) #landscapephotography #PacificNorthwest #NaturePhotography
Fifty Shades of Green - The Pacific Northwest really has no concept of moderation. A little moss? No. A little green? Also no. Instead, it creates places like this — where waterfalls tumble through ancient forest debris, every surface wears a coat of moss, and the air is so fresh! Cheers!
"Petals in the Shadows" Spring in Washington has a way of quietly transforming the forest, and few plants announce the season better than rhododendrons—the official state flower. Scattered beneath towering evergreens, their vivid magenta blooms in dark forests are hard to miss. Cheers!

"Walk This Way" - The patterns and mineral colors make for a compelling abstract on their own. But add a few bird tracks, and suddenly it’s not just texture—it’s a story. Something was here. And just as quickly, it was gone. #abstract #naturephotography
"What Remains" - Inside Ubehebe Crater (Death Valley NP), the land tells a different kind of story—one shaped in an instant rather than over millennia. A powerful steam explosion created this crater, scattering ash and rock that now form the layered slopes seen here. #landscapephotography

"Dry Currents" Almost forgettable. No drama, no depth—just a patch of ground you'd buzz right by without a second thought. Then, the light changed. In Death Valley, the same scene can go from flat to fascinating just by showing up at the right time! Cheers!

Emerald Constellations - I’ve seen cracked mud before. Plenty of it. But this? This was new. Algae? Cyanobacteria? Fun to find something unexpected, intricate, and oddly beautiful—and leaves you to figure out what you’re looking at. #abstract #desert #naturephotography

Sand. Fun when I was a kid… still fun now. Big dunes turn into a playground for photography—endless lines, shifting light, and more compositions than you know what to do with. And somehow, against all odds, I made it back to camp with very little sand in my shorts. Winning. Best to ya!
"Sand-sational Waves" -One of the many dune images I took during a recent visit to Death Valley NP. Those soft dunes and layered ridges almost look like flowing fabric. The warm light against the cooler background hills gives it a calm, almost dreamlike feel. Fun in the sand!

"Chromatic Earth" - This image is an example referred to as alpenglow. Taken after sunset, this hillside in Death Valley NP takes on a rich watercolor look I really have always been drawn to. #landscapephotography #NaturePhotography #FineArtPhotography #OutdoorPhotography
