Day 6: well…I did it. 96 miles, Milngavie to Fort William. sort of. minus the parts I skipped. but I did 17 miles today and we lucked out so much with the weather. Ben Nevis greeted us into Fort William. My legs feel like they are filled with bees.

Day 5: a huge rain storm came in off the Atlantic which meant no hiking for me. my friends still went on and did 21 miles, so of course I feel like a flop in comparison, but they were miserable so whatever. I still saw some stuff and I’ll be back someday.

Day 4 of WHW: supposed to be a 14 mile day but after mile 7 I took a bus full of crabby elderly germans and cut off 3 miles so did around 11 total. rain every 10 minutes or so but it made for lovely photos when the sun was peeking out. my feet hurt.

day 3: everything hurt and I wanted to die so I took a train. I did a small side quest up to a ridge and back and it was lovely and quiet. 4 miles of peace and moss. back on trail tomorrow!

I basically took the route I was supposed to take, but in reverse. So I did two miles out and two miles back. Rain and sun were taking turns and everything smelled so nice and fresh. A chunk of the trail was in the woods and the moss looked so soft and I wanted to take a nap on itanother view of the trail. nice and flat and rambly, just how I like it.the third sticky toffee pudding I’ve had in three days. it’s becoming a problem

day 1 of the west highland way: around 13 miles today and it’s our easiest day. my feet are killing me but omg how beautiful. we got the most stunning weather and everything was so lush. haven’t even reached the highlands yet…but tomorrow we will. onward! (going to make a thread so mute if u want)

trail view in the morning. the sun was shining after a huge rainfall the night before so everything was mud but we couldn’t have asked for better weather. cool and breezy and ahhhhI forgot to bring my journal so I’m using alt text as my journal and I’ll copy it down later. This was our first view of what will become the highlands. I love sheep.my friends ahead of me on the trail. we always hike in this order since I hate leading. We had a good pace today of 3 miles per hour but climbs were minimal so I doubt we can keep that pace going forward. look how grreeeeennnnnthere were lots of things you could get from local farms along the trail like baked goods and….horse manure. this little place had Shetland ponies and I cried.

hi I am leaving for scotland TOMORROW and I have a million things to do so I am posting here instead. I already miss Suvi and she's sitting right next to me. I haven't started packing. I am hiking about 10,000 miles and my boots still have vomit on them from japan (long story). panic. help.

attention attention I got in touch with a local dj acquaintance who streams and he helped me figure out some stuff to hide from mr. twitch...so all that to say...fishbob returns (not a dj) in november, date tbd. cnty club part ii.

what if my new big couch gets here before winter and I set up my tv and all my blankets and pillows and get out my dvd box sets of gilmore girls and 30 rock and daria and I have books and my switch 2 and I light a bath and body works leaves candle and drink a crisp coke zero and everything is soft
