THIS. A thousand times THIS. Of course “net zero” policies have a cost and we need to protect people hit by the transition. But ignoring climate change has a MUCH BIGGER COST.

With the release of today's data the impact of the UK summer heatwaves is becoming increasingly clear. Deaths were unusually high for the time of year during the May and June heatwaves, and unusually low during the weeks in between. Need to wait a few more weeks to see the impact of July heatwave.

Burnham's cabinet is, private school wise, a fair bit less representative than Starmer's (which had the lowest % privately educated ever - although Burnham's is still fairly low vs all other cabinets) - at 24% it's several times higher than in the gen pop (7%) and higher than all Labour MPs (15%)
