Adam Muraski@adammuraski.bsky.social · 51m agoThat is not a question for me. I am only overly interested bc I grew up in Ann Arbor. I live in Milwaukee now. I don’t see AES moving to be a consensus candidate with the veracity required to overcome barely pulling off a win with a plurality.
Ok unironic idea- Slotkin analogue and El-Sayed analogue are the only two senators not to be captured when ICE analogue takes the Capitol during the 2029 Yoon moment. With her intel experience and his muscles they must sneak around the occupied Capitol and save democracy

for all that it's worth pointing out that aes only has a shot bc stevens ran a terrible campaign, i think aes did also make a fair amount of unforced errors that the aoc campaign, hopefully, will learn from. not to repeatedly shill her but hong ran a much better primary campaign
anyway, i think barinasuchus is just an absurd animal. like an almost allosaurus sized land croc existing into the miocene is the fakest sounding thing ever

But here’s a prediction I make with great confidence: If Stevens wins narrowly, & it’s in part because she dominated w Black voters, this place is going to get real ugly.

Aoc has slopulism credibility because she opposed tax cuts, which makes me believe she’s only reaching out to maha because she knows she can get away without committing to actual bad policy
This does bring up an interesting point- establishment vs dsa primaries aren’t acc a predictor of nastiness. WI-Gov has been very cordial and policy focused. CA-Gov and IA-Sen were also fine. The nasty primaries have pitted the black-jewish alliance against the emerging pmc-immigrant prog coalition

An advantage el-sayed will have for the general is that he’ll be sharing a ticket with Jocelyn Benson, who is on track to decisively defeat John James (or even better Perry Johnson)- Mike Rogers would need a lot of ticket splitting to win
Btw an underdiscussed thing is that I think it’s obvious from the late polling that far far more of mcmorrow’s support went to aes than to Stevens

This was a real concern of Crockett but doesn’t really work for stevens here. Say what you want about Crockett, she was successful at cultivating a genuine cult following, which Stevens doesn’t have outside of, like, Magdi Jacobs
