Okay. Now that the first real chapter of the story is out, I'm going to promote this. Rated M, WIP but the first 55k has been written. Updates the first weekend of every month. Written and plotted before S3. Human AND Canon AU. Hurt/Comfort where the Comfort is the slow burn.

Summary:
I went to your grave...

The man turned, his eyes covered by dark sunglasses, and looked up.

“Ah,” he said, raising an eyebrow. “You’re awake.”

…and you were there.

Widower Aziraphale Fell has been without his husband, Anthony, for almost four years until one day a door appears in a graveyard and a demonic doppelganger named Crowley comes out. Finding himself suddenly living with the face of his grief, Aziraphale must come to terms with his loss and help Crowley get back to his own angel. A story about loss, grief, healing, and finding your way back home.

I’m so embarrassed that I started this book like, “UGH a canon text, let’s see what’s the fuss,” and now I’m quietly weeping with joy to myself and filled with goodwill and optimism toward humanity and its capacity to love. How dare you, Jane Austen!!!

ELIZABETH, wide awake at night: Okay I guess I don’t feel I hate him anymore, but there’s still something else I feel about him that’s just as big, just as unwieldy. What even is this? What ever could this possibly be? What in heaven and on earth could this big squishy feeling be? What could it—

If a show hurts you so much you can't interact with a part of canon, it's your job to work through that. It is not my job to tag canonical things I don't interpret as upsetting to protect you. Sometimes curating your experience means understanding you can't interact with a particular fandom anymore.

I guess the weird thing is how for the past 7 years I've been in this fandom it's ALWAYS been cool to have your own versions and AUs and headcanons, and it was all still them, but now that we have a new canon aspect to play even more with, this version is the only one Not Allowed in the club

Crowley didn't choose to erase humanity; it had already been erased. Humanity wasn't sacrificed. He and Aziraphale sacrificed themselves to bring humanity back, with actual free will. Crowley didn't force Aziraphale into this, they chose to do this together, because they love humanity.

#GO it’s a new day and it’s hot as Hell. Why don’t I share my favourite thing I made with ya’ll? This wasn’t really gonna be seen in closeup but I love making stuff for Hell so much that I had a lot of fun with this. “Make a hellish declaration of war” they said. “Bet.” I replied.
