@hoji.design

she/they lsd and the search for who asked alleged artist dont go to my domain; it's not ready yet :(

aaaaa fuck finally drew something. keep making changes to my deer oc, she has short hair now. also forgot the antlers. oops. guess i'll make her my pfp here too lol

A portrait of an anthropomorphic deer woman with dark short hair and a tired expression.

Shit, um, been a while. I did some sketches of my new deer OC who totally isn't Dess Holiday "inspired". She's totally not me as a deer either. Nope! That would be ridiculous! And before you ask, I didn't get her last name from a Deftones song either. That would be just stupid. #oc

Three drawings, labeled by number. The first drawing is a sketch of a deer girl with a hood up. The second drawing has the hood down, and a skirt instead of shorts. The third drawing is a portrait. The deer has medium length hair, a jacket, and square glasses. The deer's name, Noelle Rosemary, is written on the canvas, along with some sort of signature. I wonder what that Japanese text means. Surely it doesn't mean "Hoji". :p

Pinterest is lowkey making me feel bad about my own art, and lost in terms of art style. There has to be a better way than just scrolling Pinterest trying to find what inspires me.

Was doing a small stylization study, cause I can't keep a consistent style still. I wound up taking it from a sketch to a cool ass portrait. Crazy how art is fun when you're in the zone!

Greyscale portrait of a girl with a mullet. The drawing has a lot of texture, including screen tones. She is making a bit of a pouty face.

The endless toil of "I want to figure out my style, but I gotta work on my fundamentals first" - And then I don't make time to work on my fundamentals. 3D form is a big weakness of mine that I haven't seem to have corrected. So, I gotta find a way to balance fundamentals and style stuff. Fuck.

Kinda forgot about the whole bsky thing, along with the whole domain thing, along with the whole existing thing. Life's been rough.

I keep trying different styles. I don't even know if this is Dess from Deltarune anymore. At this point, it's just me as a deer lmao

A deer girl with bright yet pastel red hair. She is posing confidently, with one arm against her hip. She is wearing a big jacket and shorts. This was drawn in ink and then digitally edited for cleanup/coloring.

Decided to do another sketch of the character I'm working on. Wound up being sort of a self portrait. I'll use it as my pfp here.

A self portrait of the artist. She is wearing a green jacket, off the shoulders, and a blue shirt that has ":3" on it. She is wearing a black beanie with pins and glasses. Her light brown hair is medium length, with snow white ends.

Drawing traditionally is a pain in the ass once you realize that you want to digitize it. Then it becomes an endeavor that takes too much time and effort. Original drawing on the left.

A plus sized woman with a side shave on the left side of her head. She is holding a plastic cup with a straw in it, and wearing an asymmetric dress. There is an ink blot on her eye from a mistake, and some bleeding color from another page that had alcohol markers used on it.Ditto, except digital processing has been done to remove the ink blot and marker bleed stains. There has also been lots of clean up, especially around the eyes, and the liquify tool was used to make the head more proportional. The artist did not think this was worth the effort it took, and would rather have inked it in a digital program, as opposed to real ink.

Just gonna shout into the void real quick. Today's just been one of those slump days. I had this vague idea of like, mixing maximalist minimalist graphic design (E.g. The Designers Republic) into my own art style. Didn't really take. Guess I gotta take a break, and also try to find more inspo.

Looks like reverse psychology does in fact work. I said I'd end up in a 10 day slump again and then banged out this drawing. So much for the slump I guess :p

Three-quarters view portrait of the same short haired girl from the previous post. Again, she is wearing glasses.

After about an hour and 20 minutes of screwing around, I finally created something I'm happy with. Seeya 10 days from now after I get stuck in yet another drawing slump! #oc

Greyscale drawing of a short haired girl with glasses. Front profile. She has really tired looking eyelids and an open smile.

Pretty happy with this. Especially with how I drew it. I started with a sketch, then lineart in pencil, then a second pass of lineart with a dip pen. I'll try that more often when I draw traditionally.

A portrait drawing of a short haired girl with round glasses. The drawing was done in ink, and you can see traces of the pencil sketches that were erased. Her eyes have very pointy eyeliner wings on them, and she has subtly pencil-shaded lips.

Okay I don't know what I did differently this time, but I locked in when I was just gonna do a lil sketch. I should do lil sketches more often.

A greyscale portrait drawing of a girl with short hair, in a cartoony style. She is looking 3/4ths the way at the camera, with her body turned to the side. Her glasses, unlike the rest of the drawing, are reddish orange.

Actually really proud of this one. This design was really inspired by the "runners" in the game Marathon. I might refine this drawing some more sometime soon...

A very pale skinned woman with short deep grey hair. She is wearing headphones, a white puffy jacket, rust red shorts, pink kneepads, and red basketball shoes with blue soles. On the right arm is a patch of a broken heart, with the left side being pink and the right side being blue. There are blue scars on her body as well.

Attempting to break into the #splatoon competitive scene, as someone who's been playing the series since Splatoon 1. Posted a looking for team thing on the IPL Discord, to absolutely no reply. What's going on with that? Who do I need to yell at? Let me INNNNNNNNNNNN

A conversation between me and someone else. The conversation is as follows:
Soavdannom: "Honestly just yell on blue sky and use a splatoon # and they'll show up"
noelle dee: "lol I might"

I tried to get back into the swing of things after a long while of being in a slump. Not bad at all, actually. Sorry for the bad scan btw. I'm too lazy to rescan.

A pencil drawing of a girl with a dark bob haircut. There are red pencil accents on her cheeks and bottom of her lip. There is a speech bubble next to her with a red heart symbol in it.

Today, I did a self portrait in my sketchbook. Might refine it more in Clip Studio later. Thought I'd post anyways, though, because I really like how this came out. Enjoy!

A pencil drawing of a girl with shoulder length hair and fluffy bangs. She is wearing a wide neck, off the shoulder top and glasses. She is also smiling. The camera is slightly below her eye level, angled up.

Gonna post into the void here. I've been struggling with trying to get some of my drawabox lessons done. I don't really know why. I'll try to do something this week, but like, it's rough to even think about doing it.

Cooked up a new OC today. Her name is Ishika, and she's some kind of weird squid creature. Unrelated to the other kind of squid creature that is seen in Splatoon. I'll flesh her out more as I think about what I even wanna do with her. Also I realized I forgot her glasses. Oops! #oc

A drawing of a girl that is inspired by a squid. Her flesh is pink with red splotches, and she is wearing a beanie that is also pink.
