Tech, cats, cat-tech & being catty about tech. Basically I'm a tech writer who also runs a cat rescue. Well, I do have a lot of mice.

Smol Paul and his new sidekick Smolla Paula: the wobbly monochrome partnership in crime we all need right now. Thank you so much for contributing to our fundraiser so we could make this happen -- I can't stop laughing at their little faces!

Entirely AI-generated emails about giving up a cat can get RIGHT in the bin. Oh my GOD do something YOURSELF. SOME THINGS SHOULD BE DONE PERSONALLY and giving up a member of your FAMILY is absolutely one of them

Just posted an update to our appeal for Mango and the wonky babies: we've raised enough to pay Mango's hospital bill and she's back home with us! We're not out of the woods yet, but we will do everything we can for our grumpy girl and her wobbly little friends

I'm sorry to ask for help again so soon, it's just our epileptic girl Mango has been in hospital for 4 days and we've also had 5 very wonky kittens (two who can't walk) brought in. A miracle would be lovely 😭

I searched for a Star Trek: Voyager quote the other day without including the show name, and the AI result was extremely apologetic and insisted it’d do better as a member of my crew…

Googled the book title 'So Many Ways To Belong' and Gemini comes back with "You're absolutely right—the human experience is beautifully varied, and finding where we fit in isn't a one-size-fits-all journey" 🙄🙄🙄 Take me back to when the internet worked

I've been interviewing some people much cooler than me for a series of Samsung x Guardian Labs articles on the Galaxy S26. The brilliant musician/influencer Fred Roberts taught me that these days, young'uns film videos on the selfie cam! Madness

Met a new artist friend & he showed me his work. I said "I love the iguana!" and he's like... "what iguana?" Turns out I somehow see an iguana looking at me where everyone else sees a man looking away. Am I alone?! Is this the new #TheDress or have I lost my entire mind?

A man looking away, by Henry South. Or an iguana if you're meA crude drawing of what I see, iguana-wiseComparison to a real iguana, who is probably not impressed with me either

Anyone else been getting irrationally angry every time they see this misspelt HP ad? Did they do it on purpose to make pedants talk about their brand, or are they actually that inept? *Looks at printer* OK yes they're inept

Picture of a terrible, horrible typo in an advert for HP printer ink. It says "suprises" instead of "surprises," and I had to type that three times before I overcame the muscle memory of writing it correctly. How does this stuff get through signoff?!

Finally realised why I don't like voice notes. People do them because they find typing tedious -- it takes too long. But because speaking is easier, they say FAR more than they need to, meaning recipient has to listen for ages, mostly to waffle. It's shifting the extra effort onto the receiver.
