That was a very nice W for the #Astros. Wesneski looked good again. He gave the team 6 innings of 2 run baseball. That's excellent. Javier did an admirable job last night. The difference was offense. It was good to see Altuve slide across home while avoiding a tag. Hopefully a series win tomorrow.

I like Miles Straw when he played for the #Astros. Still kinda root for him. All I can think while watching this game is "Miles Straw never hit that well when he played in Houston".

The #Astros lose to the #BlueJays 3-1. Probably stings a little more than a normal loss as it comes on Trade Deadline day. In the grand scheme, meh, even hot streaks have dips. Let's see how the rest of the series plays out.

So...Imai is wildly inconsistent as a starter...but a freakin' beast when he comes out of the bullpen? Imai pitches 3 innings of no run ball almost effortlessly. #Astros pitching have done their part; time for the offense to get busy.

The #Astros didn't do much to improve for a lengthy playoff run. However, they didn't mortgage the future for what I expect to be a short playoff run...if they make it that far. Varsho probably contributes more for 2026 than Arrighetti will.

Thirteen days ago, I wrote this. Obviously, a lot has changed. The #Astros have won 11 of 12 and the starting pitching has gone from abyssal to not bad. Yordan continues to mash and the team finds themselves atop the AL West by 2.5 games. A lot can still happen, yes. Gonna try be optimistic, though.

Good article. I would disagree with the statement that the #Astros can't make the postseason (the AL West is pretty horrible), but I agree with the overall sentiment that they should sell. "Making" the postseason shouldn't be the criteria for success. "Winning" in the postseason should.

In their never ending quest for any kind of content to fill the empty spaces, I fear this guy turned to AI for these trade suggestions. Never mind that the #Astros are now lead their division (barely), many of the names mentioned on this list are likely non-starters in the worst of times.

The #Astros took care of business and beat the #Rangers 11-2. The #Astros crested .500 and have a *huge* half game lead in the AL West. Silver Boot...yeah, I guess there's that too. Good to see Hunter and Isaac do well. Great win.

So the #Astros traded Shewmake to the #Brewers on July 12 for cash. The #Brewers DFA'd him on July 24 and he cleared waivers. The #Astros now have signed him to a minor league deal and stashed him away for depth at Sugarland.

Glad the #Astros got the sweep...I think. Just wondering what this does to the whole trade dead line drama and if the team will trade away the future just to make the playoffs. We'll see...still quite a bit of baseball left, but I don't see Houston as sellers between now and Monday.

Kinda cool I stayed up for that one. The #Astros come from behind to beat the Angels 6-4. Javier pitches 5 innings in relief of an off-again Imai (that was yanked in the 1st). Yes, I know the Angels are awful, but it was nice to see the comeback anyway. Also, Javier might belong in the rotation.
