At this instant in 1945 (8:15 AM August 6, local time), Little Boy—a 15-kiloton, uranium-fueled atomic bomb—destroyed Hiroshima, killing (per official US military estimates) ~70,000 men, women, and children, incl. 12 American POWs. Independent estimates later maintained ~140,000 people were killed.

On the one hand, I am curious as to how exactly they'd regulate premarital relations in the Sex Purge movie. On the other hand, I'd rather have someone use my head as an archery target than hear one more goddamn word about it.
‘What if The Purge was for premarital sex?’ is the odd, gimmicky elevator pitch for this slickly made yet ungainly oddity that can’t quite get past the grimness of its conceit

Law & Order Season 20, and Lieutenant Van Buren announces that she's been diagnosed with cancer. After 17 years, I finally notice the framed photo behind her, which appears to be one of Edmund Kemper, The Co-ed Killer. I was unable to confirm this to a certainty, but it sure does favor Big Ed.
Yeah but in the way that The Best Years of Our Lives is better than First Blood. Sometimes you want a quiet, thought provoking story of men returning home from war. Sometimes you want a vet consumed by ptsd pushed too far by local law enforcement until he breaks and tears their little town apart.
This isn't timely, and I don't think it's even controversial, but "Wishing" and "Space Age Love Song" are both far better than "I Ran" (which is still a good time). Thank you.
If you're gonna clean up the city, you've got to get creative.
Watching Serpico for the first time. I gotta say I was unprepared for the sheer number of goofy hats.
Also head to the Criterion Channel to enjoy four films by Alex Cox-including REPO MAN (1984) and WALKER (1987)-playing for a limited time.

That's Henry Stram as Cashier. Law & Order fans may recognize him as Eli Madison, the Dick Wolf take on the then recent Robert Durst murder trial. That name would be even more infamous over a decade later when HBO aired The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.

I just think Bradbury would've been remembered more fondly if he'd set "There Will Come Soft Rains" in Pee-wee's Playhouse.
They product placed the hell out of some Coca-Cola in this movie.
Reminder that even though Linda (BRIDGET FONDA) is barely in this one, she's integral to the story, because that's all her stuff in the trunk.
ARMY OF DARKNESS is 81 minutes long. It retells EVIL DEAD II in about 3 minutes. Still has time for a whole slapstick Gulliver's Travels thing. Baby, this is efficiency
Or stir memories that had been mercifully repressed.
Fun way to find out which people didn't know there were two X-Files movies.
I watched every one of these shows, but don't actually recall watching The White Shadow first run. I remember it mostly from syndication. However, the same local cable station, Channel 24, also aired WKRP, so that could explain the confusion.
CBS used to have one banger of a Monday lineup.

I've never really understood antisemitism, but it sure ain't for lack of the Israelis trying to convince me.
An Israeli court has temporarily blocked a plan, cooked up by far right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, to construct a moat full of crocodiles around a notoriously abusive prison that holds Palestinians, over concerns that the crocodiles would be harmed or mistreated.
So, I only saw 'cheerleading reenactment', then I was concentrating on the video, wondering what in the hell I was watching. Then I read the whole headline. Folks, my last two years of high school (Class of '90), they had Slave Day. Our school auctioned kids. Black kids. Girls. But goddamn...

We can all agree that the Satanic Panic was awful and destroyed lives and never should've happened. However, as far as awful life destroying things that never should've happened go, the Satanic Panic was pretty awesome. Sure beats the Hell out of whatever all it is we've got going on now.
This is what all those anti-immigration people are afraid of.
