Putting out early feelers for casting I'll be doing in Sept/Oct for 4 characters: - Vietnamese, female - East African (other African regions ok but East would be precise), any gender - Irish, male - and the last one's weird but I'd love to hear from streamers who got acting chops

there's something really funny i notice whenever i am back in nordic countries it is that i go from a really unusual genre of guy in the states to a really typical genre of guy again. a well dressed man with long hair is just a neutral genre of guy up here.

a lot of this trip is actually acting as a midway point between home and sweden so we can spend time with my nephew and the babble of a baby who has been learning swedish, english and german all at once is truly exceptional.

if you are the cartoonist who drew the water tiger exhibit illustrations at the perlan know that we are your biggest fans. we are such big fans of you.

i like that reykjavik will let me buy a hot spiced milk. it is so anise and black pepper and turmeric forward. i feel alive.

today was kind of just more of this and a lava hole.

i cannot stop thinking about the sheep with jobs because on an island without wolves you didn't need dogs to protect your sheep from external threats but you did need at least a couple sheep to be smart enough to keep the others alive while navigating weather and terrain.

today i also learned that there is an additional breed of icelandic sheep called leader sheep that are the smart sheep that help herd and guide the dumb sheep. they have to maintain the bloodline carefully otherwise the sheep get too dumb again. i am excited to learn more.

#1 thing i did not expect about iceland also is that this is a hot dog's world. this is a hot dog culture.

the highlight of my day was while driving between beautiful icelandic locales i got a notification that someone thought my boxtrolls review was unfair to laika a studio that only makes good movies. as if i have not watched their BL yeti movie twice. as if i was not a scholar of their filth.

honestly i was mentally prepared for reykjavik to be very expensive but then i remembered i am an american so numb to inflation and price gouging that by comparison 19 USD for a kebab wrap on an island is completely understandable.

journey to iceland already off to a fantastic start becuase i forgot to weigh my carry-on and the scant amount of hiking gear pushed me over into needing to pay a surprise $100 to check it... 🐴

anyway i am already well connected to the local love and deepspace cosplay group and i'm the only one with big biceps so like anything could happen.

mostly i am just still sick in the head after reading valko's full leaked profile because i think it would've been very life affirming for me to see him. he was the lowkey autistic beefcake metalbending werewolf ceo of a chocolate factory. is that not what i'm trying to accomplish here.

i am still reeling from the realization that the industry standard drafting technique for bodices that people are taught just breaks down on full bust sizes and the standard advice is just to adjust fit afterwards instead of getting it right the first time. i feel crazy but also so motivated.

learning in incredulity the standard bodice block drafting guide in the textbook recommended to me by everyone who went to fashion school does not work for women with large busts. i am back to listening to women on reddit and youtube who have been fighting this good fight underground.

i am learning more about minion biology and i am really fascinated by the fact that the minions do not reproduce and there is a single consistently immortal population. which raises the question, have we lost minions over the course of human history? how many?

despicable me 2 is much worse than the first one which is sad to me i was so pleasantly surprised by the first one being so coherent.

watching despicable me for some reason and struck instantly by the realization that this franchise is the reason why the hello neighbor franchise looks like that.

maybe i just need to watch every despicable me film. i just realized i haven't watched a single one. what's in there.
