Together with Freedom House and Hindus for Human Rights, HRF filed a petition on behalf of Baloch human rights defender Dr. Mahrang Baloch, who is serving two life sentences on politically-motivated charges in Pakistan.

In a joint statement, HRF’s Freedom Fellowship Alumni express their firm solidarity with Thai activist and conscientious objector Netiwit Chotiphatphaisal, who has been sentenced for refusing compulsory military conscription.

HRF strongly condemns the prison sentences imposed by two courts in Burma on nine activists, who received up to 37 years in prison for campaigning against the military-planned election in December 2025.

HRF calls on Thailand to uphold the principle of non-refoulement, end the forced return of dissidents and human rights defenders to countries where they risk arbitrary detention, torture, ill treatment, or lengthy imprisonment, and facilitate their safe transfer to third countries.

HRF condemns the move by the Venezuelan regime to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is one of the last avenues available to Venezuelan victims to pursue justice and accountability as domestic courts remain co-opted.
