In Memorial sign for someone, nailed to the beach access ramp: "We love you to the beach and back." @amycolleen.bsky.social: "That doesn't mean as much when you have a beachfront house..."
Radio News Announcer: "Coming up, are there fresh signs of the AI tech bubble bursting?" Me:

Sometimes packages get damaged, and sometimes it's NOT the carrier's fault. Today while picking up at the "customer shipping location" I watched someone kick their own boxes through the parking lot before carrying them into the store to be shipped. 😳
Laser pointers: successfully enabling preschoolers and cats to entertain one another.
Happy “liberal arts professor helps save the Union” day to all who celebrate
"And are the secret antifa scubadiving ninjas in the room with us right now, Mr President?"
We really are in the dumbest timeline: "Florida man blames algae and peeling paint on secret antifa scubadiving ninjas." 🤦🙄
My 3yo, cuddling on the couch before bed: "You keep me safe, Daddy?" Me: "Yes buddy, I will *always* keep you safe." 3yo: "...From ninjas?" 🤣
When my brother @kaijustew.bsky.social and I were kids we sang "The Song That Never Ends" from the TV show 'Lambchop' to annoy our mom in the car; well Mom just told me that my 5yo boy has started doing the same thing as well. Stew has thus called it "a generational curse." 🤣

This is the movie in which I got to be an extra this past weekend! It's looking really cool! youtu.be/GFnnG6gfZmk?...

Why did I drive 4 hours from home and spend the night sleeping in my car at a truck stop? To be an extra in a new film adaptation of "Red Badge of Courage"! I get to be a wounded Union soldier. 😁
Would you like to know what @amycolleen.bsky.social got for my bday? AN ACTOR FROM MY FAVORITE SHOW recorded a video greeting me, singing happy bday, & telling a behind-scenes anecdote! It was Gary Jones, who played Chief Mst Sgt Walter Harriman in "Stargate SG-1"! ❤️ www.cameo.com/recipient/69...

My almost-3yo boy, 5min BEFORE the Artemis liftoff, bored waiting on the countdown: "I don't wike wockets." Same kid, 45 seconds AFTER liftoff: "I WOVE wockets!" 🤣
Less than an hour until the Artemis 2 launch window! I'm really excited to watch it with my boys!
Rewatching "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" (the game show, not cartoon) with 5yo Andy, and can I just say that Rockapella were really, really good singers?
I got to see the flag from my ancestor's Civil War regiment, and EVEN GOT TO HELP CARRY IT from the storage racks to the display rack! He was in the 6th PA Heavy Artillery as part of the Washington DC garrison and also guarded railroads and bridges nearby. The PA flag preservation facility is great!
30 years apart. Three different generations. Same hobby. ❤️ On the right is my grandfather helping me to launch a model rocket, and on the left is me helping Andy.
Andy and I had perfect weather for launching a model rocket!
I didn't want to have to change delivery routes, and some the steep driveways on this new route are a pain to walk up/down while carrying packages, but at least there's some pretty views.
Home improvement day! I removed the first blade, then realized that I should pause for a "Before" photo. Stand by for the "After" update!
In terms of "Stupid But Extremely American Ideas," where would you rank using a propane torch like a flamethrower to melt ice off my front walkway? Scale of 1-10.
Conversations I never expected to have with my children: 5yo: "I'm showing my pee-pee to the cat!" Me: "No! Don't flash the cat!" 🤦
Great news last night on the front of battlefield preservation, and I consider myself lucky to be present for such an event.
5yo: [Drives a remote-controlled car around the house] Cat: "This is the most intensely interesting thing that I have seen since the laser pointer..."
Andy, Ben, and I had a boys' day out! We saw the city's holiday parade and had lunch at Primanti's afterwards. Andy was a real trooper, walking round-trip about 2.2 miles and sharing parade-thrown candy with other kids around us who hadn't gotten to pick up as much!
To the makers of children's DVDs who include a "Continuous Play" option in the menu: parents everywhere salute and thank you.
